Silly zombie sculpt

I saw Spacemunkie\'s Yoda figure on Saturday. This one...

Got all inspired as the fig was mighty cool. So, I thought I\'d sculpt myself a caricature style fig. After a little thinking and putty pushing I ended up with a 40mm zombie that I\'m really rather pleased with. Just a bit of fun before anyone has a heart failure thinking this is the kind of thing I\'ll be doing for my new company (this is just a sculpt for fun).

Only thing I might change is to reduce the size of his reaching hand a tiny bit. It\'s not as big as it looks in the photo but might be better reduced a little. Anyway, here he is...

He was loads of fun, and quick, to sculpt so I might do a few more subjects at some point.

Awwww! Oo\'s a cute widdle zombie then? Even for a \"messing around\" sculpt he\'s damn good - I reckon you could sell a few if you cast him up.

Nice! :) But as the proportions is already messed up through \"hero scaled\" miniatures I think you need to overdo it even more for the caricature aspect of it to come across. Now he looks more like a hobbit-zombie IMO. :)

I like that!

I sometimes think mini sculptors get a little obsessed with (over) detailing figures personally. I guess it comes down to what sells if they\'re commercial castings.

I\'d love to see some more Zo stuff in this style and scale.... ;)

I keep picking up your scarecrows to paint, but I\'m waiting to find a decent \'Cowardly Lion\'....

What an elegant sculpt. So smooth and simple, graceful. Love it!! Only criticism is he seems a bit well fed for a zombie. might suck in the cheeks and make the hand more bony.

nice work! how long did you take on him, roughly?

i agree with shawns comment about the hand, and would also say that the foot seems below the standard of the rest of it imo

The hand has been duly updated and is looking better. Pics soon. The feet are a bit simple compared to the rest of the sculpt. Probably due to his not being planned ahead of sculpting. The feet were sculpted early on and I\'d been thinking of a less sophisticated style. As he progressed I kind of got into the groove and he improved. Might tweak the feet (more refined, maybe a little bigger).

I worked on him over 3 days I think (might have been 4) but it was short stints. I think around 6 hours all in, not counting curing times.

Well, that would make him a successful zombie, wouldn\'t it? All those thin zombies just can\'t seem to get it right, going after the people with the weapons.

If I were a zombie, I\'d rather be a bit plump and well fed rather than skinny, starving, and with a shotgun blast hole through me midsection. lol

Jesus I hate the talent around here.

You just knocked that out \'cause you were bored? Damn.

I love it, and I have trouble thinking I\'m even distantly related on the evolutionary ladder to some of you folks.

Amazing stuff, have you got any future commercial projects planned that you can give us a backstage pass to?

what are you going to do with it? if you want to get rid of it the i know someone who\'ll paint it.

My new range is nothing like this. But I\'ll be releasing this guy anyway and might do a few more when time permits (lots, if they\'re popular, but I\'m not really expecting that).
