Hi everyone,

Sorry for creating another thread but whenever I reaply to my old one, I get the error message that it seems to be spam... no idea why nor how to fix it.

Anyways, I am back with a bit of time spent on more Silver Tower heroes. As I did not receive my Shadespire copy yet, I am trying different color schemes.

Do you prefer the White or Gold armor ?

I have no idea how I did that nice blending on the feathers :)

And a Priest, where I tried to write real Elvish runes in the book :)

Let me know what you think.

Each fig took about 2-3 hours max.

ahaha thanks, coming from the master of speed :)

I still have to finish up the Priest. I think I will do my Shadespire Stormcasts in different colors too, perhaps one white, one pink and one gold.

Interested to see your take on the Ogroid...I painted him a while back now, great mini but I struggled with creating definition on his legs which I felt all merged into one a little.

Heres a link to mine if it is any use -

Nice colour pallete on the rough blend that rich base purple is lovely...keep us updated.

I'm struggling to find a cool color scheme for the Ogroid. I saw many examples online and might stick more or less to the original design. I remember seeing yours and the purple OSL, the whole thing looked great! I'm still debating on the color for the runes to make them really pop. White with a bit of gold maybe... or bright pink ? dunno yet...

The base tones are really crappy at this point as its really watered down and doesn't cover well yet. Its only the first layer but I was excited to test a wet blending between blue and purple.

Any tips for the Skavens ?

Think the Skaven needs pinker flesh IMO...when I did my Skaven BB team the paler skinned ones always turned out better.....probably depends what colour armour/cloth the skin is offset against though...

The model would definately benefit from some fresh skin tone and highlights following the wash you have put over the skin though....think its just a little 2 tone at the moment.

Do you have some pics of your Skavens ?

My current skin tone is just base color + brown wash, so no highlights yet.

Anything else I should change on these guys tonight? I need to tone down some rust effects for sure.

Wow those Skavens are impressive :) Seems like you went from purple to white on the skin. ine are too brownish to do that now, so I tried to go for a paler skin on one of them but didn't the result so much, so I left the other one as it was. I already spent too much time on these guys and have all the other Silver Tower guys to do. Its good enough for me for tabletop.

I also tried some verdigris effect but without Nihilakh oxide I had to mix some blue and green to get a similar color.

So, i worked a bit more on the Ogroid... and I didn't like it. It was just too dark between the blue and the purple allover. So i stripped it and re-primed in white. I want to go for an icy look with the runes in Orange / Red.

Do you have any links to something similar ? Like an ice monster or whatever but not too blue, more towards white.

Thanks

The colour scheme in the top guy looks awesome... could possibly look quite good on the ogroid!!! I thought what you had done before looked quite good... but if you weren’t happy with it then why not try something different...

first pics was just a light first layer. I then tried blending and highlighting but it just looked okay-ish and too similar to every other Ogroid I saw. Plus contrast-wise, it was too dark.

I probably won't paint as well as the first pic monster, but I like the color scheme and higher contrast levels possibilities.
