Since everyone else is doing flesh!

So...as everyone else seems to be doing models with lots of flesh showing and as I don't have the barbarian model, I thought I'd join in, in my own way! ;)

Here's something I started today, sketching in the flesh tones and testing out my colour scheme for the material, the legs have been blended up a bit, the torso is very much just colour placement atm. I think the colour scheme will work, let me know what you think! :)

Is that "Daramis, healing light" by Andrea? I have so wanted to paint that figure if it is her. I like the start and you sketch in a bit like I do.

Yeh guys it is her - glad you guys like the start of her. Just watching Safe House atm, which is awesome, will do some more painting on her after the film and dinner. :)

Is the surface of the model rough or is it just the primer still showing through? It looks from the photo's she should have been polished with steel wool. Nice progress BTW, you are going to force me to order one.

The surface was quite rough, but I did sand it multiple times as well as file etc, I just think it was a bad cast, there were lots of bits that needed sanding a few times. The primer is still showing through a little too, however I took that photo using the Super Macro mode on my camera from about an inch away from the model, you can't actually see any grainyness with the naked eye, it looks smooth as silk IRL. :)

Nice progress. I think it was the light spraying of the white primer over the black showing through that made it look so rough. She's gonna be a beaut.

Did a little bit more blocking in and blending on the body. Green areas have only had the dark / light base coats put down, no real blending and the flesh has had the first set of blending done except for the back which is still being blocked in. The flesh will in places go up to almost the same paleness as the face. Not sure if you can notice it in the pictures but all of the shadows on the skin are painted on, so there are slight blue hues thrown in the darker areas.

The model has a long flowing gown type thing she is connected to, I'm not sure whether or not to do this in the same style green or do it as a red / purple affair.

Ok, so today I started on her flowing robe. I wanted to contrast the green nicely, so I thought I'd do that by using the red hair and a purple / red flowing robe to nicely frame her. Also thought I'd start to play on colour temperature to get more contrast.

Here are a few shots of the robe so that you can see what I mean, along with a shot of head / body and robe so that the colours can be seen together. I think they work nicely.

This looks to be turning into a great mini. The blendin on the robes is looking good. And i am really likin the skin towns on theface and the depth being developed in the hair. I also appreciate the step by step wip shots. Really helps feed my brain on different ways to approach a paint job.
