So is that done with oils? or is it a photograph. If it\'s painted it is the best quality photo-realist work I\'ve seen.

Just because you don\'t like/believe something, doesn\'t mean you have to belittle everyone who does. There\'s lots of art being displayed in this thread that I think is complete bollocks, but I respect others tastes and will just refrain from commenting on it. Each to their own... :flame:
I\'m not a big Dali fan (my wife likes his stuff), but I love Giger\'s work, also a name to look out for (for those with a slightly less arrogant, more open minded outlook on life) is Australian artist James Gleeson, brilliant ...especially his more recent stuff. I\'ll try and track down an example, if not my favourite piece.
Sturm will probably rip it to pieces and say it\'s a load of tosh anyway... ???

A lot of Gleeson\'s stuff is a little derivative of Dali\'s, but he has done a few cracking pieces. I like this one....

Some of Gleeson\'s early stuff is quite Dali-esque, I agree. The ones I love are the last ten years worth, in a similar vein to the one you posted.
There was a big exhibition of his work here in Melbourne a couple of months back, with hundreds of pieces. It was truly amazing. His use of colour in the larger, more recent work is just supurb.
I\'ll try and scan in a couple of my favourites from the exhibition catalogue, but the pics don\'t really do them justice.

Ok, I promised to scan a couple of my favourite James Gleeson paintings. Finally got around to it. So here they are, for anyone interested. These paintings are approx 2m x 1.5m in size (except the last one).
