Sionid's Clean Your Plate WIP Thread

Thank you for your ear-support, folks (she does only have one visible ear. Could be her backstory: "In a land with no ears, a child was born...")
I'm feeling like maybe her armored shoulder is still too small? Her left definitely is, as I haven't fixed it yet. And I measured--she's a little over 3 inches tall.
To do:
-make hairline more natural-looking
-make the back of her unboring
-add shoulder-bulk
-smooth out face
-wires 'n stuff
-????
Thoughts are always appreciated, thanks for looking.

Oh no...
The boob plate is a bit silly, but still. *grabbiest of grabby-hands*
Also, got my Relic Knights in! Haven't done hardly anything but clean and assemble so far, but here's some quick pics for you anyways:

The Suicide Queen, who I primed and then promptly Simple Green'd because it was fuzzy as feck:
You might think that the fact that you can't see any of their faces is because of my shoddy photography, but in actuality, it's because there just...aren't really faces. The female faces are like vague circles for the eyes at most. Malya doesn't have a nose at all. Sooo, gonna be making that up.

Desk-rummaging was fruitful! I found metal bendybits that were probably meant for some other purpose, but they worked awfully well for this one.
Lost some of the definition to her mouth while I was sanding, which is a shame, but I think the paint is what will be important in picking out the details of her face anyhow.

Thanks, Meph! And Zab, I'm just painting her up. Don't know diddly about casting.
Painting on the sculpey is weeeiiird. I've heard of people sealing and then priming before putting on paint, but I went ahead and just primed. The absorbency of it makes me very thorough with my basecoats!
This evening, we went from this:
To this:
I'm pretty much doing the colorscheme on the fly. With the neutral tones in her clothes and the warmth of her skin, I'm tempted to give her a really vivid and unnatural hair color, like shades of blue and turquoise. Must not paint hair red. Must not paint hair red.

I'm pretty much doing the colorscheme on the fly. With the neutral tones in her clothes and the warmth of her skin, I'm tempted to give her a really vivid and unnatural hair color, like shades of blue and turquoise. Must not paint hair red. Must not paint hair red.

). I wanted to have something painted for PP's contest, slim as my chances may be, so here's how far I got today on Tristan Durant.

The colors on the cloth are luscious. If you have time a bright steel or chrome on the armour would look nice reflecting the cloth colors.Some great colours going on

Ten Ball and KruleBear, thanks for the cloth-compliments. Krule, were you thinking like chromey NMM? *head explodes* Well, I have a night off. Let's look up some tutorials!
Progress on his teensy head. He's awfully craggy for the young dude he's supposed to be. I'm thinking salt-and-pepper grayish for the hair. Sorry for the size, phone camera resolution ain't great (but still better than my actual camera...)
Edit: yeah, I have time for anything I'm willing to focus on, basically. The con isn't until the 13th of August. Just means I can't procrastinate any further!

Wow, that is coming out nice! Turquoise would probably look nice for the hair; it would nicely complement the skintones you have going on.
Looking forward to seeing how this one turns out!
