Looks really good to me, the nnm sword especially so. But I love the muted colours personally. And the face is great......bah everything is great lol!

I like it as it is, but an option would be to put ivory grips on the pistol. You could use the hair color to tie it together.

I think she looks awesome personally. if you're really not happy though why not go with the ivory grip as Kbear surgests you could also paint the holsters a deep brown rather than tan just to force a contrast.

Thanks for the suggestions and support! Krule, I didn't even think about ivory grips, that could've looked nifty with darker holsters. As it is, though, I like the dark grip because of the lightness of her skin.

Sigmar & Gandalf, that's good to hear--I find weapons really intimidating to paint, for some reason.

Testing with one of Massive Voodoo's photo backgrounds. Still cell phone pics, though. >.<

The previous image of the base is more true to IRL color, the high points on the "rock" look much paler in these pics than they do in person, it's much more gray and less white. Makes it look like a perch favored by seagulls...

Thanks, guys! Entered her today, we'll see if anything comes of it. Lots of cool submissions to look at. In the meantime, HELP ME I JUST KEEP BUYING THINGS

Damn GenCon.

Hahaha! You fool! I fell into the same trap. Me: "Screw GW! I'll buy other minis and spend less money in so doing! I mean really, how many cool minis can be out there? Click, click, click... Oh, F**k."

AHHH I KNOW. So much excellence. And a bunch of Confrontation for 50% off...!

I went to visit the display cases and somehow Viktoria has some white powdery substance, in which there is a big ol' fingerprint, on the most obvious part of her base. I'm just about positive that it wasn't there when I entered it. I should be able to ask to take her out of the cabinet and brush her off tomorrow but in the meantime I'm just gonna worry about it really hard

Indianapolis for GenCon! And yeah, some of the minis--like the weird little cherub dude--came with the others. But I do like odd stuff. That is true.

She looks great! Good luck. Wish I was there, but Nurgle decided to "bless" me again this week :(

AAAhhh Gencon, the REAL christmas for miniature people.

Moetle, thanks :D we actually call it our Christmas (and more money is certainly spent now than in December, heh). Bad timing, Grandaddy Nurgle!

BloodFather, the rules are here. Basically, there's your usual categories like Single Figure and Unit and whatever, and this year there are two sections to every category--"Open," a more casual competition, like for people who've never entered a competition before, and "Master," for the more experienced. Weirdly (or maybe not? This is my first contest), Open has a single gold, silver, and bronze award to give out, while Master rates each entry individually from no award up to gold. Seems like it'd be the other way around.

There's also Manufacturer's Awards, so Wyrd or Dark Sword or whoever could also pick your mini out for an award outside of the GenCon judges' decision. So it looks like there are lots of ways to win stuff.

This little dude got me into Privateer Press' final speedpainting round! Speedpainting is ridiculous.

We had 45 minutes (with the model pre-assembled and primed), using their brushes and paints. Felt bad for some other folks whose shields broke off! I'll be doing one for Wyrd tomorrow. 45 minutes of intense, focused silence punctuated by occasional cursing about the paint not being dry is more fun than it sounds, I swear...!
