Nice looking stuff, I really like that bust. And I've got the Medusa figure from Arena Rex, just a really beautiful sculpt.

I'll be there tomorrow, so I'll see you around the show!

Wow, that bust is amazing, want one too! I hope there will be a shop in europe who sells them. I'm about to finnish my very first Forgeworld figure and was really impressed with their high quality. Haven't heard of Arena Rex before, so I'm very curious about their quality. Maybe you can post a pic of the casts you have just bought?

Thanks for showing your latest members of your grey army,

Gino(2dope)

Want. Bust. Now. Those are very shiny looking additions to your collection. I'd like to echo KruleBear's request to see that bust in your WIP.

Have fun at the show!

Yeah, one of my goals for this year is to stay more connected with the online hobbysphere. I sorta drift towards being a total hermit without thinking about it, which is no good for improving!

The Arena Rex models are really snazzy, imo. The only one I'm not dazzled by is Ban-Luca, the short-haired woman in the breastplate, and it's entirely because her face is slightly odd--eyes are too deeply recessed, hair doesn't have that cute little side-tail that the art does. I'll see if I can't doctor her to my liking. Resin seems fine on all, nothing much to do beyond basic cleaning and a little bit of the ol' heat-and-bend.

Gino, I'll be working on my first Forgeworld mini (and my very first 40k model) with Vulkan. Space marines are reaaallly not my thing, but I have a soft spot for Salamanders, so I think it'll be a nice challenge to try and make the mini work with my style. Get ready for a fun-filled, probably horrifically lore-unfriendly ride!

And just for showsies, these were my CB entries:

No wins, but I'm honestly pleased to have made the judges' cut with how intense the competition was this year. Does make me wanna throw down harder next year, of course :D

If you didn't already know, some of our very own forumites, Bailey and BloodAsMedium, took home crystal brushes again this year! Getting to see those entries in person was such a treat, and I can't help but feel proud when one of us goes home with a well-deserved sparkly.

Guess the judges didn't want to give you the expense of yet another shelf after the haul you took home last year. :p Really looking forward to seeing you do the Skarre bust! The box art was a bit disappointing, but the sculpt itself seems good, you should be able to do some real magic on it.

Really classy painting Sionid. I carnt help but feel that because of the number of minis to judge in these big competitions that the fine detail work (like on the busts body & legs on the girl) are missed. :(
Very impressed with the blending / colours on the girls hair :good:

Beautiful work on those entries. Love the colours and the intricate freehand. I can't wait to see what you do with the new stuff, it will suit your style perfectly

I'm having the same problem with the forum at the moment as well. I post something and then just fall off the grid for weeks. I just don't seem to be finding the right flow this year. Still it's great to see you back (however infrequently) I love you work, it have such a lovely whimsical feel to it

Must confess that during the voting I identified you behind those miniatures at first sight LOL!!
Being the witch, my favourite of them both. I really though you were going to get a prize with her! But there were some other great great pieces to compete with!

Welcome back. I was really surprised that your bust didn't place, but congrats on getting past first cut.

Two really beautiful and striking entries, congratulations on getting them through the cut!
As Darthmarsh said, I love all the delicate freehand. It ties in well to the intricate construction of both with the tendril vines and flowing streamers. Please post more, I'd love to see what you do with the new minis.

Really nice work on the CB entries, I remember seeing them while I was voting but didn't realise they were done by someone here :)

Also I didn't know pp did busts either but I really like the look of that one you have, must resist urge to start new projects...

Beautiful work! Both clearly worthy of awards, this was just a crazy tough year at the competition.

Have fun with the Arena Rex figures. I'd really like to see what you come up with for the Medusa one.
