Thanks for the kind words, guys.

Started on the bust tonight!

In the lore, she's a pirate queen from a society of lady pirates who've been biologically twisted into sadistic killing machines due to having dragon blood rain down on their island...point being, I want to play up the spooky blight aspect. Pretty much winging the color scheme. The gap in the eyebrow will be a scar and is totally not because I borked the model up a little in that particular area.

Also, 'cause it's the first time and all, dropping a link to my first "box art" paintjob! I did a unit of Cyber Zombies for Raging Heroes. Good fun.

Love the lines radiating from around her eyes - great start to the blighted look. It is an absolute joy to watch you paint.

Congrats on the box art gig as well!

That's gorgeous. Perfect expression on her face. I love the eyes and the cruel little smirk. And are those very small veins you've picked out on her neck and chest to match the purple around her eyes?

Yeah, a Sionid siting. I was worried that you would be too good to hang out with us now that you are a big shot studio painter ;) lol. BTW great job on the box cover. Imho those were the most dislikable Raging Hero sculpts I had seen, then I saw the paint job (before I knew it was yours) and thought that maybe they have potential.

Congrats on the painting gig.

Scary eyes already... those veins are ace! Are you going to give colour to her eyes or leave them "blind" I am supposing they are still wip but not sure of it. I picture them a similar colour of her hair. ;P

Btwkatie I thought the mini you did with the freehand on the legs was Jessica riches when I found out it was your I was so impressed and elated that it looked that good..def award worthy your bust as well....love and good fortune to you and yours.

Wow, that's a whole lot of awesome. Great colors for the skin. The vein effect is really well done and super creepy! Love it!

Yeah, the bits around the eyes look amazing. And congrats on the box art, those figures look very well done. Makes me want to paint the stuff I got from their KS a few years ago.

Oh yeah, got caught up in the bust and forgot to say congrats on the box art! Really cool!

Okay, back to the bust. =) Out of curiosity, how did you approach the veins? Are you painting those directly on top of the skin or laying down the veins first and then glazing over?

Great stuff. The zombie girls are fantastic! Skarre too, I particularly like the subtle veins on her chest.

Truth be told, I couldn't stand this bust when I saw it appear online a few weeks ago... you have cast that initial impression aside. Magnificent work.
