Sir Alexander, Baltimore 2010 Single Fantasy entry

CrookedEye

Fear the Crooked Eye
Hello All,

It took me forever but I finally have pictures of my entry from Baltimore, 2010. It was a very tough competition but I was lucky enough to come away with the gold.

This piece pushed a lot of boundaries for me. I've always done conversions for entries but freehand other than simple patterns was something I had not really tried. For this one I decided to give it a go, and keep at it until I had it. Surprisingly it wasn't that hard and I hope to incorporate more freehand in my stuff going forward.

Anyway, lots of pics here:http://www.coolminiornot.com/263763

Any comments, suggestions or crits welcome. Always interesting to hear what people think.

photos dont do justice at all, it needs a black backgound with larger pics or just two or three angles with larger pics on white. photos are to many details so the main view of the model is to small. amazing work that needs to be better presented to the online community! :)
yurii told me that you may come down to nyc gw and paint with us for the day one day. that would be awsome!

Thank you everyone!

Ansel, I tried taking some pics on black/dark blue backgrounds. Came out so-so. My photography skill definitely aren't great. I'm using 2 lights but I think I need a bounce card or something. To get the details on the bottom light enough the top bits have to be over-exposed. I'll work on it.

And I'd love to come into the city to paint. Once I'm done working on my kitchen I'll have to schedule a date. :)
