Thanks for the comments and critques, I do take them to heart.
Yeah, the white clothes inside I wasn\'t the happiest about but I had started with a much darker color and then decided I didn\'t like it so I kept lightening it up. I think maybe a wash with .... what I brown, perhaps graveyard earth or something darker would maybe make the folds pop a bit more and then highlight again. I\'ll have to try that.
As for the sword ... yeah, I\'m still trying to get the \'hang\' of this NMM thing. I thought I had hit it fairly close with the armor, but the sword I knew I was still lacking in. I might just rework that sword before I send it off as part of a miniature exchange I\'m in (paint and send on) on another forum.
Now, on the armor, should i have taken, out to the very edge, the lightest color that I have now, and then come back with progressively lighter approaches with the grey/blue combo I was using up to hot spots of white?
The colors I used were Sombre Grey (Vallejo), then washed heavily with black, picked back up with Sombre Grey, then I mixed 50/50 Sombre with ... I think it was Ghost Grey, then just Ghost Grey for the lightest highlight. I tried staying away from white so that it wouldn\'t look too extreme. Should I have perhaps gone that route?
Black lining ... that\'s something I always seem to shy away from. I\'ll go ahead and make the distinction though and see how that works. One of those things that I just don\'t think about while I\'m painting it.
Thanks again.
