....wait.lol the dings look good. the only thing i would work on is the playskool red chainsword(looks like the stuff you see in toy\"R\"us kids section). i would at least if you havent done so already change the hilt/handle on the chainsword and maybe a lot more nicks. again proably something your doing anyways.
oh and the pic is really washed out but this the best for game army i have seen in a long while.

Thanks Larre,
Well, cant show you anything at the moment, but i can tell you im planning a few entries. WHFB Single will be a dwarf miner with OSL, and WH40K single will be a dwarf im converting into a squat :)
I may enter some more, but these are the main ones im concentrating on.

the chainsword i would maybe add a bunch more damage. IMO i would make it look like he uses the chainsword. lots of metal shining through, maybe some gore also. i know you said you have a bit more to go so ignore me if this is already in your mind. BTW gren is very nice and the cloak looks very good also.

Looks very cool, and I love the mud on his dirty girlie skirt!

You are going to have a very cool army when all is done.

Personally I would steer well away from Squats and Golden Demons. Some beautifully painted pieces ahve not made the cut as they are not based on GW IP, and the squats are a sore point with the powers that be at GW!

Would still be a cool project to do mind! (I have thought about making an Imperial Guard army from dwarves in the past) and I for one would love to see your squat when he\'s done.

Thanks for the replies guys

@COG: Thanks for the help, ive started adding more wear and tear to it and its looking better.

@Orkydave: Yeah, i was a bit worried about this myself, but i had a talk to one of the guys who helps organize GD down here and he said there shouldnt be a problem as they were a line of miniatures once, although i am re-thinking my options at the moment.

Thanks again guys, should have some more WIP pics of him,and the ravenwing bike today.

I dont think you should have painted the weapons red. I think they would have looked better if they were black. But i still think your army looks good. :)

Thanks for the comments everyone,
Ive made some more progress on the bike and removed most of the dirt from it as i went a little over the top with it, should have some pics today/tomorrow.
@Tide of khorne: The base is a 60mm (6cm) round base, to be honest im not sure where i got it, but i think they sell them on eBay.

/Starts incantation to raise topic from the dead

Im back!!
Hey everyone,
Well is been a loooong time since I posted here, life has been busy and I never found the time to get this log back up and running. For those interested, OZ GD went well, I didn’t win anything but my entries made it through several cuts on the finals day, and I almost took 3rd place with my DA Scout.

I am currently working on a dwarf LOTR army as well as display figures and some GD entries for this year. Hopefully now I have some time I can keep this log up to date.

Ive included some pics of some stuff Im working on as well as completed.

The DA Commander’s freehand is only in the basic bulking out stages, and needs refining, then highlighting etc.

Arwen is still very WIP, I havnt been able to work on her much lately.

I have also completed 12 dwarves for my LOTR army, painted to a tabletop standard, Im quite happy with them.

Hey guys,
Here\'s todays update,
Spent half of yesterday working on a colour scheme for my DA\'s, i had tried once before on a DA Scout, but i decided that it was too bright for the dark angels.
Here are some pics of my latest test, i tried making him more dark and menacing, but still with some contrast. I painted him using wet-blending and a top-down lighting effect and think that this may be the colour scheme i use for the rest of the army. What do you guys think?

All feedback is welcome,

Wow, that is an amazing colour scheme SJD. I really like the different approach you have made to the DA\'s.

However I think that the red looks really out of place on the belt their. It could be that it is far to bright that it clashes with the shadowy effect you have on the rest of the armour. I would say that if you made the red darker, or tried a different colour (purple maybe), it would improve the look of the guy.

Cheers,

stm

Hey Sagtheman,
Glad you like them. Im trying for a more dark scheme for these guys to reflect their history. After a few comments on another forum i re-painted the belt buckle a black/grey colour and it suits alot better.
I should have this guy finished and based soon.
