Sisters of Battle Hummer

Yes that\'s what I said. Now stop the sniggering. I\'ve been going back to some old overdue projects on my bench. Many years ago I made the first Sisters Hum-vee out of the plastic Marine landspeeder kit, Some hacked up Sister figs, a Marine bike and various bits and plastic card.

There is no easy step by step that I\'ve developed so I\'m not even going to attempt that. I am posting the nearly finished pictures and will attempt to answer any questions anybody wants to ask. I\'ve alos posted a picture of the first one I made in it\'s original trim of purple and green (now in bloody rose trim). The new one has a slightly different configuration. I see that as part of the fun of these sorts of vehicles. In real life these vehicles are often modified for specific roles. The original one I did is set for heavy fire support and the new one done as a command and communication vehicle. Taking a look at what the military does with the current Hummers for more inspiration ;)

On to the pictures...

Pardon the blurry pic, I\'ll post the two together once they are finished in their new Bloody rose trim ;)...

Hope that inspires

all i remember is a scene from borat when he is buying a car. i won\'t go into details but it involved a hummer and a car that attracted ladies. nice idea though, very well executed. beep beep!:)

Great concept, well excecuted. One thing that can make tires look good is to sand the bottoms flat so they look like there is some weight on them.

Thanks Shawn I was thinking about doing that and adding a bit of green stuff to give a bit of side wall bulge too. I really haven\'t decided on a base yet so I\'ve been holding off on doing anything to the wheels till that happens.

Nicely done Garyo, but I\'m not overly fond of the colourscheme ;) But a nice conversion nonetheless!

Ah, clearly you missed that the paint job is changing to a color that any good ork can appreciate... Bloody Rose, which is Red with black and white trim.

Could you do up a list of the bits you used to make it, Im curious mostly about the back wheels.

Im doing up a ravenwing larmy, and wouldnt mind something like that to break up the speeders and bikes a touch.

LOLLERZ! I LOVE how the driver is like \"OMG I THINK I HIT SOMEONE!!1!\" and the passenger is like, \"It\'s okay, he was a heretic, don\'t take it so hard.\"

Yes, bits list plz. Although you can see most of it. I can\'t tell if you just used one bike and one speeder or not.

Also, are those wires and an LED in the second to last pic? What\'s up with that?

Yeah, the colors are the only thing I\'d change (this one screams Jokermobile). Since you\'re already on that, post it up when you\'re done again. :)

Sudden gasp of realisation, those are ork wheels on the back arent they?
The dishes dont look like games workshop, theres no huge lines, faults, crap all over them etc.
The rear lights are heavy flamer ends cut in half.
I like the look of it, but Id prefer bigger wheels up the front, Ive always used the front of any large vehicle as a bit of a ram, and front wheels always take a hell of a thumping anyway.

Yes the back wheels are off the Ork truck series. Yes on the flamer ends also. The radar and the Sat com dish are also GW oop, but I\'ve seen them in the bitz bin at Games day The cupola on the up gun version is from armor accessory sprue and gun from the side car Marine bike. Two sera sisters dremmeled like its going out of style. The rest is all landspeeder, wire, plastic card, plastruct day glow rod and greenstuff.

The first one I did I tried mocking it up with all small wheels. That was a bit goofy, so I tried with all big wheels and they didn\'t work on the front. One thing to try is making the front suspension sprung like on a dune buggy. I was too lazy and thought it might be a bit fragile so I skipped it and went the easy way. Small in front and big in back had the best compromise.
