Can anyone answer my question? I am building an SOB army. I have an Immolator and an Exorcist. The WitchHunters codex says the SOB\'s can ride to war in a Land Raider. Does this mean that the Land Raider is an Inquisition ride on loan; or can I make a purely SOB Raider with SOB livery and such? I don\'t have an Inquisition style army. Purely SOB and I want to stay thematic without risking the wrath of the Inquisition.

I\'m sure someone who knows will answer the question, because everyone here is so nice and friendly and between them they know EVERYTHING, but if you don\'t get an answer here try reposting the question in the 40K forum.

Sorry It\'s only the Inquisitor Lords retinue that can ride in the Land Raider.
Which means ordinary SOB\'s can\'t unless accompanying the Inquisitor as part of his retinue.

Gotta concur with you, Dragonsreach, only Inquisitor Lords or Inquisitors with retinues can use the Land Raider as a transport vehicle. My question: can an Adeptus Sororitas Heroine with retinue also use the Land Raider for transport? The retinue would consist of a Celestian squad, which in itself would be entitled to a Rhino or Immolator, but what happens when the the Heroine is added to the soup? Can the Land Raider then be used? ???

Simple answer Nope!.
According to the Codex the Heroine doesn\'t get any transport. So it\'s only her retinue\'s transport she uses. Rhino for up to 10, Immolator for up to 6.

There is of course the However in that you can convert a Rhino into a personal vehicle, for the Cannoness as long as you follow the Vehicle design rules on GW\'s website you\'ll be OK.

I don\'t play this game, but...

It seems that is a lot of rules concerning transports. The only Tabletop game I am familiar with is WM, and you can pretty much buy what you want as long as you have the points. There are a couple limiting rules, such as one warcaster per 500 pts, but as far as who can work with what there really aren\'t any restrictions.

Exception being mercs, certain groups won\'t work for certain factions.

It seems very limiting having to work within set \"army rosters\", although I understand you can equip units with different gear which is a nice plus. You really don\'t get to go crazy with mods with WM.

Tried getting the Land Raider to fit in with the Allied Space Marine Chapter rules, didn\'t work, though. Allied Space Marines cannot be used in a Witchhunter army in which SOBs figure...a Land Raider is a heavy support option but, sorry, no dice on a combined SOB/ASM Witchhunter force.

@ Dragonsreach -- hafta check out the vehicle design rules on the website, didn\'t see them before -- I was still using the ones from Chapter Approved.
