Well I did post a reply last night but once again CMON decided to log me out without warning :cussing: so here goes for a second attempt
The Wales Ireland game was an excellent bit of entertainment and a match I felt sorry for the forwards because they must have hurt like hell that night/this morning.
Yes Wales lost/missed a lot of opportunities in both halves and the score should have been a lot more and some of the Ref\'s descissions were a bit one sided at times, one that really puzzled me was that he sent philips to teh sin bin but in the last 15 minutes when one of the Irish players did a similar thing into the back of the Welsh Skipper all the Ref did was award a penalty??? I thought that deliberate incident was far worse than the one committed by Philips.
Wales really showed their control of the game by holding Ireland at teh start of the 2nd half with only 14 men and managing to get 3 points in that time as well. When the game started I had the feeling it was going to be one of attrition whereby the losing team would be the ones that tired first.
The England Game...
Well what can be said, OK the weather was abismal but come on aerial ping pong by England to a pointless degree, why did they bother to leave the changing room at all???
I felt that Scotland played their hearts out and really deserved that win. The commentators wrote them off before the game even started and gave England a 5 to 1 odds for winning.
I think what really brought home Englands unimaginary game was when they put some stats up on Wilkinson, he might have kicked himself onto the top of the points table/record but to what end??
The stats were something like this:
# of runs 4
#of tackles 6
# of kicks 10
I think that says it all really and Ebgland really need to start looking at teh type of game they are playing and try to inject some imagination into their game and start involving the backs, its OK to say that Wilkinson is experienced but apart from actually playing aerial ping pong and put himself at teh top of the points record table what is he actually doing for their game now???
Wales France will be a hard game regardless of the performance of other sides come backs and wins against them I think I will start to believe when Wales have actually won and can then carry this type of play further than just a season. They have worked really hard on the building blocks now lets see if they can keep up the momentum
