And as for you young Beelzebrush, that\'s the last time I support your boys in World Cup finals! Twice I did it, twice I say! Well, let me tell you my boy, next time I\'ll support the other team :D

Hey Rev, I\'m English but been supporting your boys for the last three matches (I even cheered at the wedding when someone told us Wales had won  ) Surely that more than cancels out Beelzebrush lol

I think the Welsh can beat France and probably will, they\'ve had a good run so far.

I just really, really can\'t bring myself to cheer them on though, so COME ON FRANCE! :D
shame on you! i ill always cheer on the home countries before the johns!

then cheer on the northern hemisphere over the south!

although i\'d prefer a good game to a crap one where we win

Well, I\'d always done the same... cheered on the home nations. But, during the World Cup, I was on a few rugby forums, messageboards and facebook for a bit of banter. Unfortunately the Welsh posters didn\'t post banter but pure hatred and extremely racist comments about the English (not just rugby but England in general). Gotta say, I was shocked at the depth of hatred so to that end I wouldn\'t cheer on Wales.

No biggie really.... I\'d still cheer on the Scots and Irish over any other nation.

Besides, I can hardly imagine that there were many people in Wales cheering England in the World Cup final :)

sadly i understand your feeling there. being an englishman working in the valleys i get a lot of banter. however it suprises me the amount of people who go beyond that and ite seems it\'s just bred into them to hate the english there.

i have come across the same thing in scotland though too (i only spent a long weekend there)

yeh some [people take banter WAY to seriously

i like to wind up a few english people about RUGBY but nothing else

although some people start being harsh to me but i just ignore.

I have always enjoyed the banter and I believe it should be part of the game but also that it should be just that, friendly banter.

One of the reasons I stopped going to watch the internationals was because the fun and friendly banter was going away and it was fast becoming like a football match with all the pushing and shoving. Some of the bes games I recall have been the 5 nations during the miners strike when the banter was going back and forth between the miners and the police and I have seen the French go through the city centre here in Cardiff on a match day offering around bottles of wine but I bet you would be very hard pressed to get that these days in this country.

Anyway it took a few days before I received this in my inbox but England have yet another new shirt apparently :D

Here it is :D

It\'s a sad state of affairs. I go on the Guardian Blogs for rugby, and there are a few arses on there doing what you mentioned in your post. However, there are a few regular contributors on the English side who do the same as well, and some rather insidious work from the Blog writers that is even more concerning. It doesn\'t stop me supporting your Red Rose types in RWC Finals though :),

And there we have the truth of it.
Real Fans(*) enjoy the sport despite what the game is , or who is playing. It\'s the Ar*eholes who really mess it up.

(* I can\'t really class myself as a fan but someone who appreciates The Game rather than 22 overpaid, overrated prima donna\'s tarting about.
It\'s like sex, if you can\'t put passion into it don\'t play!)

Aye, in a sport where proper salary payments only started about 12-15yrs ago, and even the highest paid players earn what top pro-footballers make in a week or two. Primadonnas indeed

I\'m starting the rugby-thon at midday. God bless my body and all the toxins that will enter it. One more day and I can relax, like.

Tidy!

That was a great way to end the 6N! Two great games (I didn\'t see Italy v Scotland).

If only England had played like that for the whole tournament, great stuff... Cipriani was superb and really controlled things. Three great tries too. Hats of to Jamie Noon too... bloody awesome game!

Well done to Wales though, that was a brilliant game, the French were totally overwhelmed and it was a highly entertaining and deserved win!

No doubt there\'s a lot of sore heads in Wales this morning.... someone pass Rev the Alka-Selter :D

I\'m already looking forward to next year\'s comp!

My head hurts, maaaan!

Phew, that was an all-dayer of epic proportions. Completely chuffed I am!

Elissalde said \"Wales are not the All Blacks\" and that the French should beat us. Well, we\'re not the ABs, but we\'re starting to look like a useful team again. We stuffed them out of site in the last quarter of the match. Our players looked tired at times, but the bloody-mindedness and work ethic dragged them through. France cracked first and Wales deservedly won. I\'m going to cut my balls off now...

lol

It\'s a high price to pay Rev.... I just knew there had to be a \'mystical\' reason for Wales success this time round.... did you have to broker the deal at a \'crossroads\' perchance? .... Folklore!!

No not a choice, just don\'t do it metaphysically or not.

The thought of a Phil with a High Squeaky voice is just too disturbing.

You could always sacrifice a Virgin instead.
But if Cardiff is anything like Birkenhead, that might be a very difficult search to undertake.

In Cardiff a Welsh Rarebit is a Virgin and and it is near to impossible to locate, bit like trying to find a live Haggis in Scotland I think lol
