firstly let me start by congratulating the french on a grand slam six nations victory! and commiserations to the english it is difficult to win a game of rugby especially if the opposing team has sixteen men in it (the ref) a more blatant show of favoritism (towards the french) it as never been my misfortune to witness.
there were a miriad of offences commited by the french right under the ref's nose none of which were penalised im begining to think his name was ray charles or perhaps stevie wonder!
not a good match to end the nations on, dont get me wrong good rugby just poor refing.
well done scotland too for kicking the bogtrotters arses, nice goal kick.

nice to know im not being paranoid here, thanks cheelfy, its a shame the french team didnt play with the same flare as they did earlier in the tournament. definately ones to watch in the world cup though next year.

As an impartial Welsh supporter I was looking forward to this match. The referee spoilt it a bit but mostly I was dissappointed with the French team's performance. The French played the best Rugby of this 6 nations but against England they were flat. I especially didn't like the second half performance as France held up the ball on the floor for the last 10 minutes. After slagging England off for their boring play I thought it was really hypocritical of them to "time waste" in the second half. It was as if they were scared of England (especially Wilkinson's boot) and that is rediculous as they are a better team at the moment.

Appart from that match though the grand slam was well and truly won by the French who played some great Rugby.

Freakinacage, I was born in Cardiff and spent many happy summers in Llantwit major with my grandparents but I live at the other end of the M4 in London now.

It's a real shame you missed the 6 nations. The Wales vs Scotland match was truly amazing.

Well it has to be said that the best team won the championship. Its a shame that the final game was marred by the negative play of france, in my opinion they would have likely thrashed us had they played to there potential and also the horrendous reffing. On this occasion it was hard to tell wether it was bias or simple incompetence as glaring penalties by both sides were missed even though france has the run of the decisions.

The thing I find odd is that england seem to be allocated a very high percentage of southern hemisphere referees. Whats wrong with a welsh, scottish, irish or italian referee im pretty sure they exist after all we had an english ref earlier on in the day who did a sterling job.

Perhaps the six nations organisers need to consider the use of six nations referees so players are reffed in accordance with rule interpretations they play under week in week out rather than some made up on the day nonsense southern hemisphere referees seem intent on.

It just seems that southern hemisphere referees have an intent to ruin the game as a spectacle when it involves two northern hemisphere teams.

almost forgot. the most entertaining part of the france england match was watching raphael ibanez's mother in law and martin johnson in the stands.

startling return to form lol, dont feel bad i dont think any of the teams have much to brag about this year, especially the england scrum.

The scrum problem in the fast half against france was caused by the italian flanker moving to an illegal binding position as soon as the scrums had engaged, moved forward and turning into english props shoulder to push him down to ground so the referee would call collapsing the scrum against england as the prop was first to touch the floor. After the first couple of times this happened the referee should have moved the side of the scrum the infringements were occuring so he could properly monitor it, he failed to do this. Its a cynical infringement which usualy goes on til the referee switches side after that the flanker has to stop doing it as it becomes obvious he is no longer properly bound to the scrum.

As far as forwards go I think italy probably had the best performing pack over the length of the tournament.

England games are definitely the most boring to watch, 'cause all they do is go for drop goals . As for what someone said earlier - its probably better for England that they dont get Irish or Scots referees, because they would probably give England a harder time than refs from other countries. oh i do support the country im living in, to go all political im living in a province of great britain
namely northern ireland not the south of ireland/republic, but the north which means my country's team is england. in my opinion anyone from the north who supports the south should be given a one way ticket to dublin for the next match and the border closed smartly shut after they've left. lol
