Skaven clanrats

I posted about this a couple of days ago. To recap:

I'm attempting to actually improve my painting, rather than try and do the same things that I always do, just slightly neater. Hence my arrival here. I'm currently working my way through a unit of clanrats. Photos will appear when I'm able to take decent quality pictures. But for now I have a question.

Looking through the WIP posts, it seems that people paint one area of a model pretty much to completion, then the next area, etc etc. I've always worked by base coating the whole model, then all the washes, then all the (limited) highlights and drybrushing. I'm just wondering if either approach has a clear advantage over the other?

As I said before, pictures will appear once I can take ones that aren't awful. Apologies in advance for all the bone headed questions I'm likely to ask, and the less than amazing quality of my painting. :confused2:

i think its rather individual. i myself prefer to paint one piece at the time of the mini, and when im happy with that one i move on to the next. that way i can totally focus at just that particular piece and forget all about the rest of the mini (sort of). also, becaus i like to improvise as the painting get along. works well with ork painting at least, when you dont have to be that cautious about colour schemes that much . but at the end, you should paint the way you feel work for you.

looking forward to see some rats :)
