Skaven Plague Monk - Comments Welcome

Hi All,

I've just recently finished painting this mini and would like to gain some of your expert feedback. This is my first try at NMM and first Skaven figure. Any thoughts how I can improve at bring my 6.7 scores higher?

I think the blade deserves an 8 atleast, the rest of the mini is just letting it down (a lot in my humble opinion).
the blending you did on the blade looks much better than on the model. Also, on the model, the colors are a bit toned down and the contrast is lacking a bit between the brightest and darkest color on it. If you could make the rest of the mini as good as the blade, you go straight to the 8 without wasting time in the '7'

agreed. really i think you just need to punch up the contrast on the green cloak to achieve a much better overall effect. the nmm is quite good.

Yep, the NMM is great, the rest of the mini needs a bit more! Great NMM! Did you follow Matt's guide?

yep the nmm looks and works very well. seems like you spend 50% of the love on the blade and 50% on the rest of the mini. if you put the same effort in all details youre going to score real high!

I agree with the others, however I am going to tend to hate you now, since that is your first attempt at NMM, and looks better than my 500th attempt.

Hi All,

Many thanks for your thoughts and comments. I've taken them on board and agree, being able to step back and look from a fresh is a hard thing, so I appreciate your comments. I did use Matts guide and thought it was fantastic - I'm now waiting for another installment (hoping for golds etc...). I'm in the process of repainting everything other than the NMM but I'm not sure I'm happy with the results so far. Once I'm a little further in I'll get some more pictures up.

It is better but still seems kinda rough. The highlights on the green cloak are no where near as smooth as those on the blade.
