Looking mighty fine the green does it for me I love the cool tones very good! The brickwork on the bases is also spot on. The tights remind me of the cat in the hat!

thanks for nice words folks! the third guy should be up in a few days, this is going faster than i though which is the opposite from how it usually feels lol.

Skel you talking the June issue or upcoming July?
the newest released so my guess is the june issue. still dont buy wh visions. and i dont encourage anyone to ;)

To me they look more turquoise than green tbh,
yeah, i have to agree there. must be something wrong with the paint, turning turquoise when blending it :) still got a tint of green luckily. irl at least!

Looks good skell. I am digging the cobblestone the most though. Only because I have been wanting to do that type of basing for my skaven. How did you do it?
its premade cobblestone bought in a bag, sorry i cant remember the brand. they are made in plaster so its pretty easy to cut them after glued to the base, i used a dremel with a saw blade, making nice sharp edges. i should had done a step by step here, all bases are cut already :/ colors used there is vallejo model color black red (must have paint) tinted with vallejo smoke.

Do you fine that Empire book a good source for inspiration?
actually this it from the "heraldry of the empire" book. have to say it was probably a bit overkill to buy, i was expecting more different banners and inspiration but its mostly just same static iconography everywhere. thats why i chosed stir river patrol, banner was different from everything else.

I once heard a great little saying.

GW is very much like George Lucus.

Both have created great universes and now both should walk away and leave the hell alone. :)

They Great Swords are er Great!

I always wondered how your style would transfer onto 'good' troops, I suppose we have our answer. Perfectly. :)

Thank you very much skell. If you come across the name or if anyone else knows please let me know. If not i shall do a little bit of gSearch. Thanks again my friend.

Skel, right, that's what I meant-the heraldry book. Was just wondering how those type of books were for inspiration. There are a few others, such as "Painting WoC," that I at one time considered pirating (take that GW!)

There is a ton of excitement generated from the 5D Painting Comp. Really looking forward to giving it my competitive all!

okay soldier no3 done. im really trying to keep myself motivated here, at least now its tome for the command. next up, unit champion.

as usual not the best pictures. i should add a disclaimer in my signature, sigh... ;)

the positions are not fixed yet and the block of wood will probably be colored black.

Incredibly done. They look good as a group on their stage. I like the
natural wood look. I'd keep that, or maybe a deeper mahogany. But as a base it is an excellent unifier.

thanks BoK. the few times ive kept the wooden look i tend to regret it afterwards, its easier to see the minis without the distraction of the wood. but darker kind of wooden color might work.

I like wooden plinths, but I do agree that as a plain surface to display this kind of "gaming" miniatures (meaning they're on gaming bases) on, I think black would work better. You're not going to add any terrain on the top of the plinth, are you? Because that might be a different thing, altogether.

Hmm that's as lovely piece of wood there (arf arf!:)) no seriously though it seems a shame to paint it black.
