thanks folks! :good:

khavor, nope no salt just nearest support as said, have added texture using a liquid type of silicone with small grain in it, especially good for nurgle projects.

chad, yeah the lord is up next. just needed a little breather with a somewhat "smaller" project ;) its also an idea ive kept in my head far too long, had to make it physical.

I understand, I want to see how this goes, the the EVL. I know you are going to do awesome with either. And I know what you mean about having to make an idea into a physical piece. There is this guy I know that needs to do a diorama of a Night Lord, hanging in the darkness about to ambush a Lamenter, but I cannot remember his name.

just have to say i think your pieces are amazing, i'm not normally one for fanboy style gushing praise but i would probably scream like a hungry baby if i got to see your minis in person. read through all your wip threads but something makes no sense to me. i noticed that sometimes your baecoat colour choices, to me and my crappy eye for colour, don't look anything like the finished colour. for example in your ork wip you started with a bright yellow base but finished with a green and purple topknot. is there a reason for this or is it that sometimes it just seems to change as you work? and also, and this bugs the hell out of me as i love this type of high contrast style and i can't seem to do it myself, how do you pick where specifically to place the really bright contrast areas while still keeping a really dark low contrast? i know you kinda just go with the flow a lot of the time but any thoughts would be soooo helpfull. im sure a lot of guys here would be interested as well. sorry for the wall of text but i have so many pictures in my head how i what stuff to look but i can't seem to translate it to mini. keep up the amazing work and can't wait to see your next piece.

cheers elgazzo, and thanks for all kind words :) yeah end result often end up very different from the basecoat colour, sometimes there really isnt a trace of the basecoat when the piece is done, its a confusing story really :D. i improvise a lot while painting. you should see my workbench, all pots is high and low and searching the paint i want i often find some others to use, a little here, a little there. for example of my latest rhino, highlights are not one but many different colours of grey, red, brown and yellow. kind of time consuming but pretty fun to experiment. basecolour on that one was fortress grey.

about where to find bright/dark places, i believe its much about experiance. not any magic tools used, i just think out in my head how the light would hit the mini, sort of. practise practise practise!

okay i really need to go to sleep now, jr driving me nuts! ;)

First off, I know what he meant. I was making a joke, since he has said, many times, how he feels about Space Marines.
Second, I do not play anything, I only paint!
Third, will you take me on Safari the next time you go? ;)

Congratulations!! I'm sure it's well deserved.

The leaf is a surprise! Didn't see that coming but it looks very moody, almost gothic. Thumps up!
