Great work, as always! I really like or dark mooded painting style.

In this case I am missing a focus for the mniature. Regarding the front my eyes calm down on his hands. Not the best place I think. Maybe you are adding some special effect to his eyes / face?

Also the OSL og the lamp should be added to the back. Metals are always reflecting the surrounding light.

You are my man! ;)

hey thanks folks :good:

regarding the focus, the helmet of the guy is painted in rather shiny metallic, more shiny than the rest to get focus. but yeah, perhaps i should do somthing about it. not sure i want to add osl on the eyes though.
about the lamp thingy, i judge it to be too far away to affect the back of him. hmm.. :)

unfortunately, too late for isabella. the banner says "rebecca von carstein" and have an image of the older female mini (i dig that one too luckily) so i have little choice at the moment, without editing the banner a lot lol. also, bummer that i already painted the champ of the gang, otherwise id done a small conversion of the king mini. oh well :D

thanks Cas :)

now, over to something else, temporarly taking a little break from the tiny skellies and begin work for something "slightly" larger - the rhinotaurus! the goal is to finish this before feb 24th so i can enter the Wamp contest, and its also for a mini competition against Anders (Ritual) which will be painting the same miniature so wish me luck guys, im sure going to need it!

if anyone have cool ideas for base hit me, i got none at the moment.

God luck on the contest!!

As for the base, here goes an idea: african savanna look, with dead tree trunks and dry grass... and some bleached bones...

I would say savanna is too obvious. I would go with some ultra gory remains of a poor victim trampled into paste, a small wall of some kind with blood stain and a huge hole in it where he rammed his horn through

i have a even "better" idea. trash a lotr mumakil and put warmaster scale corpses here and there, battle of the gargantuan beasts!

Woah! That rhino thing is something crazy!
The skellie champ is exellent and the rest of them look very nice so far. I'm beginning to share your view of the futility of painting whole armies. For me the same goes for big monsters though. You do realize the skin surface of that thing is like painting like a hundred strong unit of skinks :D
I wish you the best of luck and will be following the process.

Nice Rhino there Skel, is he much bigger than the elephant-man you painted a while back?

Oh, and those skeletons are looking very good too :good:

Cheers, B.

thanks for all ideas and cheer on :good:

B, i say its about one head higher than the elephant man, but in total mass the rhino is ablout 2-3 times the elephant at least. really fat 'n bulky one!

I keep wanting that mini, but I cannot find a store that carries it... grrrrrr..... Where did you get this one?

Anyway, I cannot wait to see what you do with this beasty. I would almost make it look like he has broken out of a zoo or circus. Maybe a trampled clown? Ha! Or a savannah look could work. Maybe standing by a watering hole?

chad; unfortunately this rhinotaurus is not casted by any company, allan carresco (sculptor) just printed 30-40 copies of the guy and i am a lucky guy to get my hands on one :) trampled clown... hah!
