thanks Sven, glad i was able to follow your thoughts. cant get how you spotted such an error though! :D

3D rocket science. now im going to smoother this out and begin the arms, end of story. have to find the easiest pose ever for them so i dont have to "crumble the seams" too much lol. seriously thanks for input finnpalm! :good:

Yeah I can see how this is becoming a nightmare to paint. I am impressed you haven't dipped it by now. ;P

Almost there skel. Looks great, I have really turned the corner on this mini. Definatley like it a lot more than I did at the start. Maybe it was just the shock of seeing you paint a marine :p

A truly complicated technical piece Skel, i havent said too much as this kind of painting is bordering on witchcraft as far as my painting goes lol, but i have been watching and i think chrome plating would have been much easier option lol.
You do realise that once you're at the top the only way is down lol.

started the first arm, and this took the technical complication to a whole new level. that said i did chose a horrible posé for this. the arm is bended a bit backwards and tilt out from the body. i had to really choose the angles here, bloody fingers!

Hey John!

no problem, but the progress of the arm is verrrrrrry slow atm, although i need to finish it soonish i lack little motivation. Spartacus/walking dead/falling skies take most of the spare time ;)
the SENMM of the fist became really really komplex so i decided the easy way out and bought a plasma gun for the other arm, should speed up things a little. and, dropped the freehand idea and use only etched brass instead. the dread should be ready for the fang at least... i hope... :D should post images of the arm soon, just the shoulderplates left.

But the dread has a mirror finish. o_O You gonna paint a reflection of the plasma coils in the dread's plating? Omg omg omg..

In my head that's a lot worse than figuring out the horizon. I'm thinking about the image you get if you photograph yourself in a mirror with the flash activated.

Or mebe you got that covered. :) About end of march, are you going for a drink sometime during the meet up? If so I'd love to drop by for a toast. :)

yeah i know about the reflections, i have to aim the weapon for minimal/no impact. also, not plan to do much osl, just a little glow :) still think that the plasma was the coolest weapon choice to pimp. but im not going to paint reflections all over the dread from it, there's enough fun as it is.

unfortunately the mrs is away that weekend so im stuck with jr the whole time. this means no drink for me. but of course you're welcome for a little meet-up!
