Skels, I've never been to a GD so I can"t say anything about it, but: Never loose faith in your skills.
You are very talented dude! Keep focusing on your work and the way to go further with your unique style.

If they don't like it, fuck it! It's your style and nobody can copy it!

Oz, i know senmm isnt for everyone. im not particularly a fan myself. Its very subjective (thats why competing in art is a dumb thing to do to begin with!). and i dont mind losing, but it feel a lot better if the winning stuff is well.. better.. like my toad, i feel wholeheartly ok with that, as he was outgunned by 4-5 other pieces. but folks, i am over it! really! =)

lets have a little jesus update instead

not really the most exciting thing to paint but its cool to practise freehand some more. next regimental wh banner will be sooo much better ;)

Ha, yeah, probably a better fit with the historical figure. Though I suppose you could make some sort of statement by pairing it with Imperial Guard, Space Marines, or Chaos.

Someone did pretty much that a few years ago, with a demon. Got disqualified IIRC.

pretty funny to paint but a test of endurance really, already investet a lot of hours in this one. cant wait to paint the actual miniature!

This is very nice SkelettetS. I really like how you have been branching out recently in both figures and styles. Makes me want to pawn the kid out for a few days, so i can get some painting done.

gaaaah...! last wip od this freaking thing, still need to do some frame-work, and brighten up the "P" symbol at the top (apologize to all colorblinde folkes ;) ) looking a bit cluttered i have to admit but then christian artwork often are, especially the catholic. going to hit it with some weathering later to knock off that super clean look.

Sweet jeezus (literally). I wasn't certain how this mini was going to come out with your usual add shadow, add some more shadow and if in doubt make it darker school of painting, but that is looking awesome. Interesting to see how the weathering will alter the look of the banner. I wonder whether you can add a little texture to the green areas to make it look more like cloth (he he... I'm not trying to tip you over the edge, honest).

thanks friends, not to worry - weathering is going to be less. just a little to add some realism. was thinking about texturing the cloth too but at this point i believe its a no go... ;)

Really nice banner sir, I have always liked this figure and have him half painted on my shelf of death. Maybe I need to re-visit him after seeing yours. I'm really looking forward to seeing him come together.

"The Shelf of Death" I like that. I have Boxes of Doom myself but "Shelf of Death" sounds better!
