hi all,
this thread is in the same vein as Sam\'s im scared thread
http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/viewthread.php?tid=31411&page=1
but im after one particular establishment. me and 7 friends are thinking of going to Skirmish for a laugh, but first of all we want to know eaxactly what its like. ive yet to find something that cant be solved on cmon bar the rescession, i thought id ask here

does skirmish get boring during a full day?
how mcuh ammo will we need (presuming were fairly trigger happy) for a day at skirmish?
does it hurt? ( i dont mean that in the \"will i come away on a stretcher\" sense as in that respect i realy couldnt care less. i mean it in the \"if i nail him in the head how long will it be before he gets up \" sense)
is it fun?
when buying extra ammo does it come in bags?
can i snipe with the rented guns?n (as in is their range any good?)
am i allowed to talk a monocular and strap it to my gun as a telescopic sight?
where on people\'s bodies are good places to shoot?
well now my veritable question rant is over id like to say thanks in advance to anyone who can answer any of this
thanks, max

seeing as i went went 3 weeks ago i can tell you its is a amazing day out !!! :flip::bouncy::flip:

never had so much fun in my life lol even though i broke my leg

skirmish at nottingham was the one i went to :D

it does not get boring after a full day !! as long as you have a lot of paintballs it is brilliant, that is the thing you need to worry about whether you have enough paintballs. me and my mates spent 500+ pounds purely on paintballs.

right i got brought off on a stretcher lol and took to hospital in the ambulance because i broke my leg on the last game

it doesnt actually hurt it just stings a few seconds and then your off again. i think its the shock of getting hit thats the problem but sometimes you dont even notice you have been hit.

if you shoot dome one in the mask they will be down for a while as its hard to get the paint of the visor so he will be knelt down wiping the paint off for a while

IT IS SO MUCH FuN in fact im going again in june as long as my legs ok

yes when you buy ammo they come in bags. if you buy a crate of 2000 paintballs then they are split up into 4 bags each with 500 in and they give you a tube to measure 100 paintballs for each game

there guns are good, you have a different gun every game so sometimes you will have one that is dead accurate and sometimes you might get the odd one or two that go slightly to the left, but if you have any problems with your gun then the marshalls sort you out straight away.

no you cant take a monocular in with you.

believe me you wont need it !!

the best place to shoot some one is either the visor balls and the best place is the hands gun area as that stings slightly more,

or the back of the knee is quite good but while you are playing you will forget all about that.

oh if you need any more answers just give me a pm i can tell you loads of stuff about skirmish in nottingham,

oh and when you go ask about any recent injuries :D << thats me :flip:

hope this helped lol

thanks Sam, we were thinking of doing it as a party, as in the 2 of us paying £25 a head for each of our friends n 250 paintballs with it. at the prices weve got to already with it thers no chance we could pay for extra ammo for everyone. so would we need about 1000 paintballs each?
because if thats the case i doubt well be able to go. thanks for the help, max

Well it\'s 55 pounds for 1000 paintball but if you go to there site there doing like a full day paintballing with all your gear and unlimited paintballs for 50 pound per person which I think is a pretty good deal or they do the same deal for less money but it\'s half a days paintballing

They do tend to have pretty good deals

Here\'s the prices for paintballs

100 for 7 pound
500 for 30 pound
1000 for 55 pound
2000 for 100 pound

Hope iv helped

Depends for each game you tend too 100 so if you ant for a full day which is 10 games then you would probably need 1000 each but for a half day 500 should be fine

But in saying this some games we didn\'t use as many paintballs we used about 50 in some games but also depends how trigger happy you are but ideally you want 100 per game

Briefly did paintball many moons ago when it was relitively new and had an absolute BLAST!! One thing it did for me was the opposite of what one might expect - It gave me a very sobering respect and fear of REAL combat. I was hiding in some bushes waiting to ambush someone and (with this being so close in look and feel to the real thing) it struck me hard and cold that in real combat you get real dead, not a snap in the fanny and a good laugh.

Full Face mask with impact resistant goggles - ski goggles won\'t cut it.

Some sort of cloth to go over the mouth grill. I took a shot right in the grill and ended up with a mouthfull of paint - harmless but tasted awful.

Longsleeved shirt, maybe two, for padding. It DOES HURT to get hit but you won\'t die. It\'s kind of like getting slapped HARD.

Something to cover your ears COMPLETELY. This and your eyes are where you really can get hurt.

A cup wouldn\'t be a bad idea also....or just stuff some rags down your drawers! A shot to the Willie might take some of the fun out of your day.

P S - keeping the inside of the barrell REALLY clean can help your shots be more accurate. Some sort of stick with a rag on the end will do the trick. Also, way back there was a way to adjust the muzzle velocity. Some of those guns can put out some SERIOUS velocity. Some ranges have velocity limits.

You\'ve been hanging around the Brits here too much :)

no if he had he\'d say a snap in the arse and a jolly good giggle what.......

as for paintballing I love it .. Skirmish is a bit more expensive than some but it is a hell of a lot better un than most...

there is one up here where there are some tomb like areas to play in that were great fun and different bt meant every damn shot was close and personal and stung like hell...ey also have an old hercules bomber to play around ich is tons of fun,

get some neoprene gloves.. pick em up for a couple of quid on ebay and well worth the investment.. getting hit on the the bare back of a cold hand is very unamusing and the bruise just won\'t clear.

try and arrange some kind of deal up front for ammo it does make the whole thing more fun and any trigger hpy bastards that keep running out either pay for more or just shoot the shite out of em when empty..

all in all though paintballing is damn good fun and very knackering. The only hing that can put a dampener on it is bloody wind...

how does the game actually wok. is it your hit once and you have to sit out?

the games are basically when you get hit your out but the marshalls dont care so you just wipe the paint and continue, but on some games you play objectives like take an objective and hold it till the end or maybe capture the flags and in them games once your hit or cant take the paint anymore then you simply stick your hand in the air and walk back to your staring point and then continue ( so basically you respawn lol )

GREAT FUN !!

@freak

alex is exaggerating i only broke it in one place, and move m ankle out of line the only bad bit was i needed metal plate etc

just to get out the old Threadcromicon, me, 5 mates and my brother went today, to Delta Force Nottingham. It was possibly the most fun ive ever had on a day out. The balls hurt like hell from short range, especially when i judged that it was a good idea to hurl myself round a barricade with 6 rounds, have my gun jam and get caught in a five man-12 feet cross fire:D got shot under my mask on the bare skin around my mouth twice, which wasnt fun. got about 11 pretty unpleasant bruises, but still a fantastic day. costs were obscene though, ended up playing a match with 2 balls in my gun cos i neded to save the rest. id thoroughly recommend it to anyone, and ill definetly be going again ASAP
