Just looked at an e-mail that appeared in my work account yesterday and spotted a Light Tent for £29.99. Pretty good bargain as it comes with lights too.

My only advice would be to check what kind of lights they are, some of these deals are for crappy little halogen lights that arent the best.
I got a good little and large light tent from e-bay and bought 2 cheap standard anglepoise lights and found an online store that sold high watt energy saving bulbs, they are 3000watt equivelant to incandescant bulbs i think. Works a treat and cost me about £25 all in.

Definitely watch the lights. I got the cheap one off of ebay. I used it a couple of times and the lights promptly burned a hole in the sides because they got so hot. I ended up making an inexpensive but really handy tent out of PVC pipe and remnant cloth. Whenever I took pics with those lights, they'd burn holes in that cloth too if I wasn't careful. They didn't have to touch the cloth, just be near it.
Then one of my cats knocked one of the lights over in the middle of the night. The switch was off but it's just a button that you press one side, it goes on, press the other side, it turns off. I don't know if she hit the switch with those big ole fluffy paws of hers or if it happened to strike the switch when it landed on the floor. But in the middle of the night, I woke up to the room filled with smoke and the carpet and some clothes I had sitting to go to charity on fire. The light had turned on and got so hot it melted the housing around it, set the carpet and clothes on fire and the light bulb was still on!!!! After putting out the fire, I chucked those lights as quickly as possible. I wasn't going to take any more chances. It was a close call that I don't want anyone else to experience.

Thats why i got the energy saving bulbs, they dont get very hot, you can have them touching the cloth and there isnt an issue of fire. The little halogen bulbs are just a fire risk looking for a place to happen in my experience and they blow very fast, the energy savers have lasted 4 years so far!

I think I must have been quite lucky when I bought a similar one a few years back. Although the lights get insanely hot, I always found that if you kept them about 6" away from the tent and didn't do pro-longed photo shoots, it didn't cause any problems. They do have a toggle switch on the back which is quite stiff so quite moggie proof!
I also found that if the lights are too close to the tent, you don't get a good diffusion of light - might just be me though.
