Smaller Clay/Colour Shapers?

Alrite guys, just wondering if any one has seen clay/colour shapers that are smaller than size \'0\'? if had a look around, called a few local art shops but I cant seem to find any, got a feeling they dont manufacture them smaller than a 0, which would be a shame coz their handy tools... :no:

I\'d be suprised if there were any smaller than zero. I\'ve never heard or seen any mention or suggestion about anything smaller. Not that I\'ve performed any sort of exhaustive search or anything, I find the 0\'s small enough for anything I do. At the Wallack\'s here they\'ve got a large display rack from the manufacturer and it only goes down to zero with places for those size tools as well.

I don\'t know how big a size 0 clay shaper is, but I made a very small one. I nicked a rubber cuticle pusher off my sister and superglued it on to a broken biro. Looks something like this:

i\'m not sure if you can get smaller than size 0 i have some size 0 and i get them from hobbycraft and i dont think there were any smaller ones, or do what bill said you could always make your own

yeah they are great and REALLY cheap if you compare them to the clay shapers of equivalent size. knick one off a female friend or relative as they tend to have a few (they come in gift packs often) you could always shave the rubber down or sharpen it like a pencil

I\'ve been wondering if you can get the same effect by cutting up a regular pink eraser with a really sharp razor. Has anyone tried this before I go wasting my time?

Darkmessiah, any discount shops or pound shops in your area? I just bought two silicon-rubber spatulas for €2 from one and was just about to try cutting one up and seeing if I couldn\'t make a couple of cheap tools from them. Especially looking forward to seeing if I can smooth them out after shaping with knife and files/abrasive paper.

Not tough enough I\'d bet. Also erasers won\'t have the same kind of non-stick ability I would have thought, especially long-term.

i was thinking of using gs to make a shaper, but changing the mix so it is softer.

an normal rubber will prolly be too soft

hey try using one of those rubber tipped dental picks....you can cut them down if the fine tip is to small i have 3-4 i have cut to various sizes.:beer:

there aren\'t any smaller than size 0 that I\'ve seen, but really, there isn\'t much of a need for them as you can do pretty much everything with the 0 because of how many variants there are.

For smaller stuff you need a sharper or harder object to get the proper definition.
