Sneak preview of up coming Armorcast goodie.

This is a medium shell stream that I have sculpted and Photoshoped the colors so it will look approximately like this when painted. There will be three shell streams. There will be one with smaller shells and one with larger shells. The front\'s are drilled out a bit and the medium and large shells have primers. Release date? Hopefully soon.

what colour resin?

Being that they are so tiny - 21mm/ 7/8 inch and very thin, they will most likely be in pewter. But the resin that Armorcast uses is an off white, like most others.

Is there a preference? What are the advantages/disadvantages to each?

I suppose if it was transparent the bits between the shells would be much less obvious

Just got an email from on high at AC and they said it\'s real fragile so it dosn\'t sound like it\'s going to be done.

Yes. Do you know of a clear resin that isn\'t brittle? Injection molded plastic would work fine...........for thousands of $$.

Are there any plans to do loose spent shell casings for bases or (ahem!) dioramas

Would there be a way to scuplt them so that they don\'t have the gap between them? That\'s the only thing I don\'t like, clear or not, I find that really sticks out.

Overall a great concept, combined with the muzzle flares you almost get mini dioramas.

I did some quite a while back and know they were cast. Don\'t know what happened after that. Go to www.armorcast.com and ask em. I\'d offer but am a bit over busy now.

I do agree.....really. While no gap\'s would be stronger, I didn\'t like that it would just look like a rod of shells. To me, the gaps gave them more of a flying-motion sense. Personal taste. I was split between aesthetics and feasibility of production too. I had considered simply selling a set of shells and some very thin, stiff, wire with so you could put it together yourself but nixed that due to people maybe not wanting to hassle with that.......these things are very small. It kind of got down to a 6 of one, half a dozen the other type thing. I also had to consider durability during production, shipping and the end use. For such a small piece (which I think might sell very well) I put a lot of thought into it and tried to consider many factors. Since the above shot, I have shaved away about half of the \'bridge\' between shells and added a large \'backbone\' that will support it during production and shipping and the buyer will simply clip it off.

only way you could hide a gap is to have on end of each case touched the next shell, like GW did with theirs but then i suppose they will be the same as theirs then
