Snow storm

Don't know if it's been on the news or anything, but we had a pretty nasty snow storm come through Nebraska (and a few other states, as well) over the past couple of days. As much as I didn't want to get out of the house, my mom had to work and wasn't able to get out of her driveway. Since I have an SUV with 4-wheel drive, she asked me to take her to work.

I figured since I was heading out, I'd take the camera and grab some photos of the aftermath. Unfortunately, the batteries died after just a few photos.

This is the front sidewalk at my folks' place. Kind of hard to tell, but that's about two feet of snow:

Popper snow, that is something to cause difficulties unlike the poxy amounts that cause panic in this country.

Snow tires; although I do have chains, just in case.

Yeah I heard about it last night on the radio. The storm didn't destroy much did it. I hope it wasn't like my place last winter with the giant ice storm.

Wow, I haven't seen snow like that since I was growing up. (don't get much of that white stuff in Southern California - I grew up in the Siskiyou Mountains in Northern California) And boy I don't miss living through it. I hope nothing got hurt.
