So about these CMoN blogs....

Talk blogging to me!

I\'ve just started a free CMoN blog all of three days ago, just for the heck of it, to do a Work In Progress for my latest project. Well, that, and to babble whenever I feel like it.

But here\'s the thing: it\'s frustrating. I use Safari, and when CMoN promises that Safari support is experimental at best, they aren\'t lying! I can\'t attach pictures to my blog unless I first send it to my Photobucket account and link from there. I can\'t even type in the text box, \'cause every 3 keystrokes or so it tells me that there\'s a scripting problem. I have to create my blog entry in my word processor, then copy & paste it to my blog in order to avoid that problem.

Not to mention the fact -- and THIS is strange enough! -- that when I have a post that\'s too long, and CMoN automatically shortens it on my main page..? They give you the \"...\" which tells you there\'s more. On a Mac, I click the \"...\" and instantly get the full post. On a PC? Nothing. Can\'t click on it.

Does anyone else here have this problem, or am I a freak occurance which will have the programmers scratching their heads and cursing my name for ages to come? :)

And following this train of thought, do you guys think I *should* continue the CMoN blog, or finally buckle and make something like a LiveJournal or a Blogspot account or something?

What are your experiences with CMoN\'s blog? Are they like mine? What would you do, keep the CMoN blog, or do a new blog elsewhere?

Gimme thoughts!

....Oh, and feel free to check my blog, if you want, of course. :) http://blog.coolminiornot.com/Witchwater

Questions and comments are always welcome. :)

I just wandered over for a look (clicked the link from the CMON sidebar), and clicking on the three dots worked for me. I\'m on a PC and I use Firefox as my browser. Just thought you\'d like to know. :)

Personally, the idea of a CMON blog has limited appeal for me because I already have a Livejournal that I constantly forget to update! lol Thus I can\'t really suggest whether you should stick with it or find another blog site. Hope you get it sorted out, anyway.

Heya!

I saw that you left a comment; thank you for your thoughts, both here and there!

I also have a LiveJournal that I honestly haven\'t touched in something like a year (well before I took the name Witchwater). I find the instant gratification of things like Twitter to be more appetizing. It\'s something I should probably try to get over. ;)

Plus, Twitter = Not so great for doing WIPs!

Thanks for the encouragement, and I\'m glad to hear that the ellipses worked for you! I think for now I\'m gonna keep with the CMoN blog and see how that works for me, unless I hear a serious \"DON\'T DO EET!\" from someone here.

i use safari and everything works ok for me ???

personally i dont see much point of a blog, its better to post w.i.p\'s in the forums where you will get tons of feedback, the main person who seems to use his blog a lot is skeeve and sukigod

Huh! Well I\'m glad to hear that everything works well for you on Safari! Thanks for taking a look.

Post a WIP in the forum for feedback? Now *that* makes too much sense! I can\'t handle that!

Thanks for the input!

I\'m tempted to use CMON for my mini-blog (right now I\'m on Bravenet) but when I started setting it up I was a bit disappointed in the lack of customization options. But I saw Jericho had a variety of colors/backgrounds on his so maybe it\'s just my crappy HTML skills lol.

I have a painting blog on Google Blogger but barely anyone reads it and nowadays I often only update it as a way to force myself to paint. It\'s not really worth the effort :(

I haven\'t updated my blog much this summer (too much work not enough paint!) but it\'s a pretty easy system to use. You can customize a good chunk of the stuff if you know a little basic html and whatnot. Knowing how to code colors in hex (or just cut and paste the number of a color from a photo editor program) goes a long way.

Give me a PM/email if you have any questions about running the Coolmini blog.
