So does anyone actually VOTE?

I wonder about these things sometimes. It seems like the old days where a mini could over enough time get a hundred or so votes is long gone. Once my recent mini reached slightly over 50 votes (one was 53 and the other 52) it remained that way for over a month.

I even tried to promote them via shout and the result was that one mini got one vote.

Now I don\'t mind having minis with low scores ... that\'s because I\'m the painter ... but a mediocre mini deserves a mediocre vote as much as a good mini deserves a good vote. So vote darn ya vote!

I rarely vote anymore.
It\'s just so sloooow.
Plus, it\'s depressing seeing how much better everyone is getting while I don\'t improve.

As to the 50 vote event horizon, I think that\'s the software. Once you get 50, your image doesn\'t come up as much. There are so many pics here, that it takes a lot of time to see them all.
Does anyone still keep up?

I paint my thumb.
I think vince is right, they mentionned having the randmiser changed. THey come up randomly until 50 votes, then only the 8+ keep coming.
It\'s more depressing in that way, since you almost only see the great minis;)

It\'s not true only 8+ minis comes up after 50 votes! Just look around and you\'ll see. It\'s just that they are weighted to come up more often.

I think the slowness is the culprit here! I used to do some random voting a couple of times a week, but I don\'t anymore because it\'s too slow and sometimes I only get error pages.

I am pretty sure the new algorithm is killing you here.

Personally I vote, I vote like mad. One day I will get through them all.

I vote every time I want to refresh the page to see new PM\'s, every once in a while I do the voting to pass the time thing, but I so rarely have time to relax and do that anymore.

I only vote when I post a comment, otherwise it\'s just too slow to make it worthwile, I think. :~(

slow, slow, slow!!!!!

That\'s the problem. Yeah, I used to be entirely caught up and did my best to stay that way, but its so godawful slow now, it\'s painful!!!
(see these two threads:
slow
and
slow II

Now, mostly a vote on anything in the \"Discuss Submissions\" forum, sometimes stuff that appears in the Shout Box, and T10L7 once every few days. I\'m a couple grand behind now and drifting further and further back :(

I spent about three hours voting last night, while doing a few other things. I even voted on a couple of yours, tzor.
I was working my way through Reaper for a while.

broken links?

i never have that problem. is it because of off site hosting? in any case, i vote a lot! i love crawling through minis, though i must admit i nearly always filter or use the search function. i like to see what people have done with minis from different manufacturers and \"keep my ear to the ground.\" every once in a while i find something that blows me away, and inspires me - and its not usually an 8+.
i like cmon because it is a wonderful resource.
vote, or become stale.

I try to get in about 100 or so votes a week but the slow thing is a pain as well as opening multiple windows with thte same mini.

I to have slowed down; not that I have ever been as prolific as dauber or Necron. Thats crazy voting:eek:.

For me it\'s a time issue, I don\'t get to paint much and I would rather spend my time in the forums chatting bout shit (and sometimes pissing people of:D)

Like many others, I\'ve stopped entirely because the site is just too slow in bringing up the next image.

Maybe it\'s site traffic?

Unless the pipe has really narrowed at the server end, I doubt its the traffic. I would love to do a trace on the database to see what it is querying everytime I go to a new page. I\'m hoping I\'m wrong that it is checking everything I have voted on before in some convoluted way, instead of a flag or something. I also wonder about the issue showing double the amount of counted votes for everyone, whether there is a duplicate index in there somwhere.

If this place sped up again, I would be happily voting away

(Tzor, I think I\'ve voted on most of your figures, it would only be any in the last month I may have missed due to the speed issues)
