Yet another great star has left the earthly plain to light the sky instead

RIP Sir Christopher Lee

Not an actor who craved the limelight and never needed to promote himself because everyone knew he had the talent.

Lived to be 93. Was knighted by the Queen of England. Survived fighting in WWII. Married to a model for over 50 years. Had an incredibly successful career as an actor. Is known and respected by millions.

Hard to find anything sad in there. We should all be so fortunate.

Well you know how it is there can only ever be two Sith at any one time... I know it was not the roll he was best known for, but man he made that part cool. Such a distinctive voice :)

One of my favorite actors. Very sad. He will be sorely missed.

Didn't he also hold the world record for most roles played by an actor?

From IMDB:

276 movies/acting appearances. Lee is the most prolific actor of his generation. The reason is probably a combination of several factors -he can act well and remained relatively inexpensive compared to other, more famous, actors - combined with his willingness to appear in movies of . . . 'ahem' . . . dubious quality.

Like the STAR WARS Prequels? ;-)

I saw a documentary about him last weekend and was really impressed with his language skills. He did the voice of King Haggard in the english AND german version of "the last unicorn".

Oh, and he became a metalhead in his 80th. How cool is that!

Oh yeah Episodes I-III, but I would also have to categorize some of the Hammer House of Horror movies in there as well. I loved him as Dracula, but some of those older movies just don't hold up to today's standards.
