So, I decided to paint my first tank for the Iron Painter competition (fortuneately it doesn\'t have to be anonymous) and wanted some critique and help as I go along. I need to have it finished by thursday 21 september to take the pictures for the comp. here\'s hoping I can manage it.

So far I have put the chassis together and done the first coat. This is the shade colour for the tank which will ultimately be bleached bone and regal blue.

the first WIP\'s are below.

Not a lot of progress yet, but at least it\'s a start.

Looking great so far, Hoblit, i\'d get those wheels painted though as they could become a problem.
Once you have put some different coloured weathering, and rust etc. it will be a fine piece of work. :D

The wheels and tracks are on the list for tonight. Hoping to get those completed and maybe start on the blue for the tank as I think that will take quite a few coats..

So, I finally started some of the wearthering last night. not sure if it\'s worked out how i imagined, but I am sure a quick drybrush of silver/boltgun metal should tone it down.

Also, I made a start on the final colours, but looking at the photo\'s I think I need a few more coats on the blue and the ivory, and I definitely need to clean up the contact points between the colours. What would be the best suggestion here, Darklining?
