This is the second version I\'ve done of this mini. I liked painting the first one so much (and I really like the mini) so I decided to do another one. I tried to make this one quite different from the first one and I think I succeeded quite well, partially due to the base work. Used a bit more colour on this one as well.

I want to thank Avelorn for his good critique and suggestions, which really helped me. So, Sven... thank you! :)

I hope you will like it! :)

Great work! The gritty base looks very nice, and I really like the use of brighter colours here and there. Super highlighting throughout.

Thanks everyone! :)

@Aliengod
It\'s hard to tell exactly how much. I don\'t put much water into the paint on the pallette. Instead, I dilute the paint by using a wet brush when I apply the paint. That way I can switch between any level of opacity I want. I\'d say the paint straight from the pallette is about 90% opaque, and then I can go all the way to almost invisible paint.

In general, I put on the shadows with fairly opaque paint and feather (or wet blend) the transitions to the base colour. I then put on some glazes with the base colour, and others, to smooth out the transitions. Highlights are sometimes done the same way and sometimes with layering for which I use thinner paint (about 50-30% opacity, approximately). It depends on the properties of the colours I use for a certain area which method I find best.

I hope I managed to answer your question there. :)

Thank you for the help. Lately I have been having trouble getting good blends and I want to see how other painters, whose work I love, handle their blends and paint dilution. :)
