If you\'re not familiar with the area you may not see why this is scary. I lived in the SF Bay area for a few years. One day the lightening was striking just as the wife and I got home. We had dinner and went to bed and thought nothing of it. We didn\'t realize that lightening is like a once a decade event in San Francisco. The next day all the papers, TV and radio were filled with the storm and we were like: \"it\'s just lightning, what\'s the big deal?\" A lot of our friends (and our cats) were terrified though. California doesn\'t have weather, it has climate.

Did I ever mention I was a founding member of a tornado chasing club back in Oklahoma?

Yes, but those don\'t exactly qualify as \"weather\".

I always thought I knew what thunderstorms were. Then I moved to Texas and, Holy Sh#t! What I\'d always thought were thunderstorms turned out to be just miniature models of what real ones are like.

Back on topic a bit, it was overcast last night around here, but we could still see a hint of pinks and greens. I wish it had been clear

I\'ve heard that Alaska has some pretty cool lightning effects too.
While on the topic of lightning: Anybody read about the guy playing Jesus in Mel Gibson\'s movie getting hit by lightning twice during the filming? God\'s probably sitting there going, \"You think this guy would take a hint!\"
