Hi Solar, I've only just noticed the bird feet on the Pirate's shoulder! Parrot I presume? Is the bumpiness on the face just more evident because of the different photo angle? He's certainly going to have a couple of warts to paint up. Though I guess many years at sea won't leave you with a catwalk models complexion

Nice terrain, do you have a Khorne army? Is that a water effect on the base or did you just varnish over orangey paint?

I see you've got a set of those rather nice paint pot holders for your workspace too :jealous:

Thanks man, Yeah when I applied the oil it gives alot of grain, it's smooth now though. A good effect of gettin' rid of it is to stipple with a flat drybrush.

The blood is a mix of red gore,red ink,chestnut ink and water effects from woodland scenics. It is a much deeper red then when it has settled in. I based the pool with a black undercoat and then stippled red gore and chestnut ink with very much water to give it a deep look.

And no khorne army, yet

That Khorne terrain is so good.

hmmm... i really like the texture of that building (church, i presume?). did you make it or buy it as sheets? nice going!

I made them myself.

Foamboard is the primary building material. Then I applied a mix with beachsand(fine fine fine sand),DIY plaster(gips in swedish),little water and a generous amount of PVA glue.

Then when it's applied with a credit card(or telephone card or any else hard thin plastic like bit) you take a damp brush(I use GWs flat drybrush) and stipple it to get this effect.

Nice but some highlights could be better blended and you have to shade a lot more your metals.

...but i must say you're pretty close to pate's forbidden colourscheme with all the little colourful details, just add some blue and there you go
