Some new minis

not quite sure what's going on. the paint and photo quality varies tremendously on those

the plague cauldron appears to be scanned. wtf is going on there?!

the testudo clan rats look like a cool idea but the photo shows very little and is pretty crap. lighting?

the dwarf has a much better pic but the close ups don't really reveal anything. you also haven't finished the base...

the plague furnace looks ace. the photo is good but needs some close ups! the warp stone and censor look brilliant

a very mixed bag

I am with FreakinaCage on this one. These are a very mixed bag, looking almost like they were done by different people they vary so much in both painting and photography.
I would suggest trying to improve the quality of your pictures so they are consistant, so we may better see the painting to properly critique your actual minis. There are some really good tutorials in the tutorial section that should help you.
From what I can see, better pictures will help you get the feedback you desire.
Happy Holidays.

Do you know where Dauber 22 has been?

We've not seen him in ages, and I was just curious to know if he is doing alright.

That seems an oddly random comment to make in a submissions thread Vikey

And I'm also in agreement with Freak, I refrained from voting as I'd prefer to give a vote that reflects the quality of your painting rather than your photography. I await better pics

Oh yeah, sorry, it wasn't just a random comment.

I thought Dredwrekka was Dauber22's son....

Maybe I'm wrong???

Nope, not wrong. We're both doing well (though the economy is doing a tap-dance number on the job market in his area).

A couple more pictures.

The Plague Cauldron was shot with the background casting a shadow over it due to the camera whiting out the lightest highlights even on the lowest exposure ratings like so:

The montage photo I used was the one I used for the Underempire painting competition.

As you can see I had something of the same issue with shooting the Plague Furnace as well

For the bottom ones I turned the exposure way down and had an overcast shadow going over the model. At current most of my light comes from strong overhead lighting, so I had to develop a method for shooting under it that wouldn't white out the model's highlights and the surrounding area.

I did a tutorial for it on The Underempire (http://underempire.net/index.php?showtopic=29492)

Basically I have the model in a slight shadow and the camera still in the light, which seems to do interesting things with the pictures.
I use a black backdrop because any white background seems to only encourage the lighting to white out half the figure.
