Thought I show of some of my sculptures. I've been doing it for about 1 1/2 year now and really enjoying it! Something about creating a living thing out of a hunk of clay. Anyways, here is on of my latest. Almost done, some texture are not completed yet. It's a little bigger than most minis. About 1/8 scale so roughly 200 mm tall.

I'll be showing some other stuff very soon. Just need to get some good pictures!

Please let me know what you think :)

Very Golem'esque. Very lover'ly. :highfive:

Out of curiosity, what medium are you sculpting in? From the size and colour, I'm guessing Super Sculpey Firm?

Thanks a lot for all the nice replies :) I'll post some more pics of this sculpture and some other soon.

QuietiManes: It's a oil-based clay called Chavant NSP medium. Good for medium scales to large scales. It's used a lot in the special effects industry. Never dries out. It comes in green and brown. This is the brown but I made the photo black and white. Kind of looks more classy I think.

Maybe, I'm not sure I'll enjoy creating in Green stuff or Magic Sculp, but maybe fimo or sculpey. Chavant is not really suited for really small stuff but I might just try something in the range of 54-150 mm or something. Most things I guess translates over. Maybe a bust? I guess one could make bust quite small and in a larger scale.
Maybe, but I do enjoy 150-200 mm the most right now. A lot of freedom and fun at that scale! Easier to.

This sculpt has lovely movement and character, has something you can actually feel in it which I always enjoy seeing in a sculpt. Great job. I have a block of chavant medium NSP in my draw. Thing is I cant make moulds so i f i did something that turned out good in it I would be gutted I couldnt cast it lol!

Think he meant he can't mold. You can mold it, you have to if you want to have it in a hard material (resin). But you can just have them sitting around. Can't play with them or anything I guess. It's quite hard clay.

A tiny update. Thought I include a close up of the sculpture. This one is pretty much true to the color of the clay so you'll get an idea of how it looks.

Here is another one I did a little while ago. A small bust of a neanderthal, or something. I've also added them to my gallery so check them out and vote :)

Here some more stuff. A zombie creature, stumbling and reaching, with one arm. Still wip, no textures or details really. And his hands and feet are not done.

Think scrolling around in the gallery again has given me inspiration to try something a little smaller than what I usually tackle. I was thinking maybe a bust to begin with, which wouldn't be much of a jump as I've seen plenty of bust in the 50 mm range.
Any ideas of what to sculpt? Anything people would like to see? A bust is pretty easy to mold and cast to so maybe thoose who chime in with some ideas and inspiration can get a resin copy.

Anyways, picture time.

How about a sci-fi female cyborg as this would give you the challenge of a female face with hard sculpt lines for the mechanical.
