I\'ve long been a fan of making the punishment the same as the crime.
Of course, I\'m also in favor of a hydrofluoric acid drip for certain offenders . . . .

Ok. I\'ve read the article. Now I am going to go and beat the living snot out of my punching bag for a few hours.

I don\'t know what and where you red this but I, having two kids saw it all: In NYC they prohibit kids to bring any pointy objects for the Halloween, not only toy weapons..... toy wands.. you know those that 6-year old girls wave when they \"impersonate\" fairies...
Anyway \"technically\" I understand how you can poke somebodies eye with a toy sword but ibuprofen? Can you actually show me where it is written that a girl cannot have a painkiller with her?
Seriously, without being too physiological, periods could be very, I mean, VERY painful; to the point of fainting; and young women, unfortunately, affected often enough.

They all should be fired. It\'s stupid and wrong and as a parent I would have sued not only the scool but the family of the kid who said it was her meds. Then headed for the government as well because the policy is brainless. I might not have gotten very far but something needs to be done.

It\'s good to know that I\'m not the only one that feels that way.
Ordinarily I\'m pretty easy-going and laid-back, but things like this really set me off. Like BarstoolProphet, I had to vent in my own way (nothing was broken and no one was hurt).
I seriously hope that everyone in the school involved in this faces charges. It\'s so hard to believe that someone didn\'t stop and point out how wrong it was and didn\'t say something to stop it.
Either they all agree that this kind of thing is perfectly acceptable (which makes them criminals) or they\'re too afraid to speak up and defend a child (which makes them cowards). Either way, they all need to pay for this.
What I find worrying in the first place is what were they thinking. It is obvious they werent thinking, even if you suspected such a thing wouldnt common sense prevail and you just contacted the parents. I am a school teacher myself ( in Australia) and you wouldnt dream of doing such a thing. It wouldnt be just unprofessional but totally immoral.

This is why every daughter should be taught a simple rule \"stranger tells me to strip = kick to the groin run, call Dad\" I know if I heard about a teacher doing this to a girl around my way much less my daughter he\'d have a twelve guage inserted in him like a popcicle stick.
People that mess with kids should be taken out into the hills beaten and burried pretty much like Joe Pesci in Casino but with a splash of castration thrown in. Any sex offender in my opinion deserves worse but it\'s not worth gettin into.

I don\'t have kids.
I have nephews, nieces and great neices. I have looked after kids as a Scout Leader and I have young friends I know from this hobby.
If any one of the above had been subject to that humiliation and disgraceful treatment, I\'d be ripping pieces of flesh off the perpetrators barehanded.
There is NO excuse for that treatment!

dudes, im a youngblood, and this is, to be quite frank freaking disgusting, in my air cadets, NCO\'s have to ask us permision to adjust our berets when we were noobs, so why not for this. hell, if its a strip search the parents should automatically informed and both parent and child given consent to tell them no. That little word.No.

I´m NOT defending the schools strip search which I find absolutely loatshsome, BUT I have to say that I understand the schools reluctancy to accept ibuprofen in the school...
A couple of reasons:
1: Allthough viewed as a harmless over-the-counter painkiller Ibuprofen is EXTREMELY dangerous if recommended doses are crossed by even a little - this stuff DOES kill very easily.
2: The amounts that the american judges reward in damages to victims are quite frankly obscene, and I would personally have to question the sanity of a leader of a school that DID allow a potentially lethal substance inside the school.
3: As far as i know (I´m european) most american schools have a nurse stationed in the schoole incase of accidents and such - if you need pain-killers go visit the nurse!

No, it\'s not very dangerous. It has some known (although not very common) side effects, yes, but those are mostly quite mild and not very harmful. In some extreme cases, when someone has severe kidney diseases or other quite critical conditions, ibuprofen can cause more serious side effects.
