Thats like an Art School advertising that Adolf Hitler would have turned out fine, if only he was an art student....

I became very popular with my college Art History professor by pointing out that had Hitler not been repeatedly rejected by smarmy art teachers, who told him he had no talent, he might have lived a peaceful bohemian life. She had it coming, everyone she didn\'t like she compared to Hitler. She was literally a smelly hippie.

Could have been worse - you could have had my college German professor - she was a German Hippie.

This one wore the same skirt everyday, and my nose is pretty sure she dodged the soap.

Yup - sounds like my German prof - only she wore shorts, and Birkenstocks everywhere.

And definately had a bit of a pong about her as our English members might say. lol

I guess I have to post this because I am in Asia. But there are now protest in Asia. Not even in Australia. Chinese are actually supporting China. And to top it off; my friend in China (Shanghai) said no one there is protesting. They think it is horrible, but now one is angry. Korean and Japanese don’t seem to care. No one is talking about it that is.

Reminds me of a news story on NPR from a few years back. The reporter was covering the anti world trade/anti-globalization protests occurring at a WTO meeting in Brazil.

The reporter noted that an anti-globalization protester from Europe was heard loudly cursing that her European bank card would not work in a Brazilian ATM.
\"Globalization\" isn\'t about where your bank card works. It\'s about capital and goods being more fluid across borders than labour is. It\'s also about the marketization of government services, tied to trade \'n\' aid between the developing and developed nations, and the \"race to the bottom\" in environmental and labour standards, and transnational corporations becoming more powerful than soverign nations. Confused yet?

I\'ve often thought that Hitler had the right personality and temperament to be an interior designer. He couldn\'t paint a figure to save his life, but he had an eye for architecture, and most interior designers are dictatorial little Fascists, in my experience.

\'Course, that probably wouldn\'t have changed what happenned in Europe in the 30\'s and 40\'s. It wouldn\'t have prevented the war. Germany had been gearing up for years prior to Hitler\'s rise to power. It wouldn\'t have stopped Fascism. Fascism was born in Italy with Musilini - the Nazi\'s just adopted it. And it wouldn\'t prevented Nazism, Hitler joined them, not the other way around. Hell, it probably wouldn\'t have even softenned the Holocaust. Germany was rabidly anti-semitic when Hitler was still just a painter.

wow seeing that sign, it really gives me a headache

@liz: being aware of ones lack of knowledge - also priceless.
noone can know everything but at least one should be smart enough to admit it

about the olympic games in 1936 - the nazis had bribed the olympic comitee. thats the only reason why they took place in germany. makes me wondering how china was allowed to apply for being the host

btw : i would like to add that unfortunately necron2.0 is right. even so hitler was seen by many desperate and very, very stupid people as some kind of \"saviour\" , the NSDAP (that was the official name of the nazi party that hitler led) would have been succesful even without him. The nazis had a lot of influential supporters like the CEO´s of the metal industry and the owner of the most important newspaper. Not to forget their own private army that terrorized the people.
