Someone remind me why I pay for Cable

Other than internet speed of course -

I\'m sitting here with 400+ channels to choose from, and have put a DVD in the player because there is nothing to watch - and I mean nothing.

Anyone else have this issue?

Yup! Thats why I canceled cable 3 years ago and saved myself almost 100 bucks a month. I get a great package deal for internet, home and cell phone through the local phone company.

I say do it.. pull the plug..fight back against bad cable programing!!!

This a saying of mine:
\" More channel, less content.\"
Your better with one sip of wine rather than water it down and have 6 bottles of insipid liquid.
Insipid is the correct word for TV now, I\'ve given up on TV for a while now, not only is there no content, but the publicity gets worst and worst, I think to the point of causing brain trauma.
We have the dish, and I still only watch tv only to socialize with my folk on sunday evening.

Unfortunately neither are an option - local phone service is DSL at best, and we sit in a dish poor spot due to interferance from a couple of Microwave farms around here.

But at least its a good excuse to watch \"The Seven Samurai\":D

I was pretty sure that HBO canceled Deadwood after season 3. Are there some new developments I\'m not aware of here?

There was talk of a few TV movies being done to close out the story, but as far as I know there has been no real progress with these, or anything to do with a 4th season.

Would be nice to be wrong mind you.

As for cable, I get it free because my landlord pays for but I don\'t bother watching it.

I have cable for only a few reasons... cable internet, discovery channel, history channel and scifi channel (When they chose to show somehting worth seeing). That and the fact living in a valley of apartments in a valley means bunny ears on the TV don\'t work that well.

Now, I\'m no prude, and since I had free internet from the university during the wild wild west days a decade ago, I\'d seen near everything on your list there, plus a couple others I won\'t mention. But I once stumbled onto a \"Big Bears in Heat\" website. Oh wow was that hard to stomach. Some people are weird! Now pass back that rubber chicken; I wasn\'t finished!

Have to be careful nowadays. The walking mini\'s I\'ve got suck up every idea their little young minds see on TV. So out goes South Park and horror and sci-fi. Mostly Spongebob, Dora, and Sprout TV for me.

Thank god they\'re over The Wiggles. Hell is waking up every morning with \"Fruit Salad\" in your head.

I don\'t think any of the above are more fitting for kids mind... quite in fact I think the people who design and air kids programs nowaday are dangerous criminals, meh. Maybe it\'s worst
here... Since Cinar became friends of the government, they get millions in subventions and only produce grotesque debilitating programs that show kids to mess around, say obscenities, insult each other AND their parents, act as spoiled brats and spend their parents money... just great.

I think I\'d rather see two beefy guys getting it on, than \"grannies, trannies and fruit insertion\" LOL That is just wrong...

I haven\'t had cable TV for about 3 years - TV just sucks away time that I would better spend doing useful/fun things.

It\'s a song called \"Nobody Home\" on The Wall.

I got elastic bands keepin my shoes on.
Got those swollen hand blues.
Got thirteen channels of shit on the T.V. to choose from.
I\'ve got electric light.
And I\'ve got second sight.
And amazing powers of observation.
And that is how I know
When I try to get through
On the telephone to you
There\'ll be nobody home.
