Something a bit different

Hi all

In cooperation with Eric Browning (who works for Blizzard entertainment as a concept artist) I sculpted and painted this little girl:

aftermath_total_cmon.jpg

The girl is approximately 14 mm.

Orginally I got inspired from a painting Eric had made for an online digital painting competition, and wrote him to ask if it was okay that I used it for inspiration for a miniature. It ended up with me sending him WIP\'s of the process, and him coming with some good suggesions on the 3d-translation of his original concept. Great process.

Well, I hope you like her. If you wish you can vote here:

That is positively striking, both in composition and in execution.

10/10!

WOW... I liked your work until now, Kaple, but with this piece I love it...:)...

I really think that you have done a GREAT job transforming a Scetch into reality, a mini... it is unbelievably atmosferic, so dense... Just good work...

Keep sculpting these Scetches, I even think you could sell them very well, if you would try...

Congrats on this stunning piece...:)...

Wow, thanks for all the nice comments. I am flattered.

I must admit that I am more and more thinkíng about only doing \'off\' projects like this. It\'s so much more challenging and most importantly fun. But on the other hand, those new Rackhams are also cool, and you can never paint enough Marines...and when is the next GD?... ahhhh... - too much exciting stuff to paint!

Thanks for the comments again. It really means a lot.

Sincerely - Rune

why don\'t you try to add a painted background? i love this sunny and refreshing feeling that the pic inspire... watching it you can almost feel the fresh air and the seagulls... i think a sunny clear sky will do the trick!

Fantastic work kaple - I have always loved your painting style and the atmosphere you create, you are one of the best. But this is something new - so original and unique, it really captures the moment. I love this new direction! Congratulations!

I\'m thinking of doing some work along these lines having gotten some issues of Imagine FX magazine; there\'s a wealth of inspiration out there!
