Hello to everyone and a happy new year!
I would really appreciate some comments and feedback on this miniatures which I painted as a practice model, mostly for NMM and skin. The sculpting of the mini was not anything in particular but it had some nice large areas for NMM mostly the spear and the shoulderpad.
Any criticism and advice are very welcomed.

Many thanks!

First off I want to say that it is a good first try at NMM, I havent tried that big area myself yet. I bel-ieve that you shouyld have even greater contrast in some places, also try to have thinner paints and make more layers to have a smoother transition in some areas. Also that i have seen in 10 balls thread is that he uses Glazes of diffrent colours to give the metalic an extra dimension. Look into his thread to learn more. also he might be willing to give som advice.

Foremost is practice and practice and put it up here so you can get advice.

The skin have a good ratio between higlight and shadow. you could add hues (Glazes) of some colours into the shadows and other specifik areas. you could use a bluish tone to make the skin colder in some areas and perhaps some lighter redish colour around the knee or knukles in the hand to give even more life to the skin.

Looking forward too se more things from you.

Many thanks for commenting. I really appreciate hearing opinions.
I think you are very right in your points. Thinning more the paints and mainly putting more layers is the way. Do you think that there should be also more colour variation between the layers or just more and thinner of them.
I also agree about the skin. I will try so next time with a mini with more areas of bare skin.

Thanks again mate!!

BTW this 10 ball tread is extremely helpful!!

I believe that you can start just with more an thinner to feel your way and see where you reach a good result. after that you can start experimenting with adding additional colours. I belive that I would stick with some basic colours first and then after I am happy with everthing do some glazes in certain places to add colour where I would want it.
