Hi everybody,
I\'ve just read the \'Soul Drinkers Omnibus\' by Ben Counter, i have decided to create an army of these warriors, and i will create an army log on this site.

Cool. I was thinking of doing this as well, but realistically I never will, very tempted to do a few single models though.

Step 1 - Army Choice

First of all, congratulations to Ben Counter for creating such an exceptional series. there are so many options for armies of the Soul Drinkers that it\'s amazing. I\'ll list them off now:
1. A standard space marine army, utilising the traits list, like \'We Stand Alone\'.
2. A Chaos Space Marine Army, which could be focused on Khorne (with Assault Sargeant Tellos as it\'s Chaos Lord)
3. A CSM army focused on Tzeentch, if you were to write a bit of fanfic describing how the Soul Drinkers fell from grace, and chose to serve Tzeentch
4. A Lost and Damned army list, depicting the Soul Drinkers if they had not been able to reverse the mutations with the stuff on Stratix Luminae.

Jeez, there\'s so many options that i\'m just going to have to do them all, one at a time.
The first one - CSM Tzeentch.

Step 2 - Army Planning

Now that i know what i am going to do, i need to plan the basics of my army.
1. Tzeentch is good, but i don\'t want to have a Thousand Sons Army. So in my army, only the Chaos Lord will have the Mark of Tzeentch, and no-one else will have the Mark. that way i can use everything in the Codex (except Daemons) and i won\'t have to deal with Slow and Purposeful.

I don\'t want to be too discouraging, but the full on army log probably isn\'t going to get too much interest here. Most of the people on CMON are painters rather than gamers, and this section of the forums isn\'t ever that busy. For those reasons I\'d say you are better off putting the details about building the army list in a forum more suited to gaming.

Once you get painting it you can do a summary of the units, then start a WIP in the Work in Progress forum, which is a much busier place on the site and will no doubt get a lot more interest.

It should certainly be an interesting army to make though. As you say, lots of options available.
