Soum 13 moons

Thanks guys. I think it seems faster than it really is 10. Trystan; I am with you on sticking with what you have already started. I have a whole shelf of started to almost finished figures that I really need to finish. Thanks again for staying with her, no painting last night got caught up watching the sugar bowl.

Really like how Soum turned out. I know you're still working on her, but she looks ready to go. Great job. I also like that you signed all the canvases. Nice touch. Of course, that makes you the artist... so does that mean it's you who's been kidnapped and who the girls searching for?

Great paint job, lovely skin and you nailed the sheer affect again, the ageing of the canvases looks very well done too. Just washes?

Neat. What's the pattern you're doing on the cat? With all these details you're going to have a very interesting and complex story by the end.

Thanks for checking her out guys. Hopefully I can get her done tonight or tomorrow and concentrate on Luz. Should I leave Luz in this thread or start a new one for her? Maybe just start a "Rescuing Royo" thread to keep (what I hope to be a line of) these figures to be released monthly.

The "Rescuing Royo" sounds epic! Just ask a mod if they could change the thread name. The cat is a wonderful addition btw.

Thanks guys. I might ask DR to change it. Luz has gotten a little far without me taking pictures so she won't have much to show. I did however take a few pics to see if I can somehow use that GIMP photo editor to get my pictures right. Here is a montage I made, how does it look on screen? I am looking for feedback on the clarity and trueness of the pictures. I am recently very critical of my photos after a guy accused me of cheating on my latest Alice figure. He said I had photoshopped it to hide my bad painting. I don't want that to happen again especially since I don't even own photoshop.

edit: good gawd man. I guess I still need to work on the scaler!! sorry for the hugeness of them but this will show the clarity I guess.

I think the pictures look good Milosh. Everyone says GIMP is easy ( and it may be), but my experience is that it is not very intuitive. I have only used it to make collages for submissions and it has taking me an hour to do that each time.

As far as the guy that said you photoshopped, i would take the comment with a grain of salt. He probably was just striking out from jeolousy or was to lazy to check any of your WIPs. Heck, take it as a compliment that it is so good they think you could not have painted it.

Thanks KB for the compliment. I actually could only figure out how to re-size them in gimp and gave up trying to make a collage with it. I finally threw them into MS paint to collage them. This is even with a lot of help from a couple of members nice enough to offer.

Typically a comment like that doesn't bother me because it is usually someones third vote, they just joined and they have no gallery. This dude is a hell of a painter so it struck a little chord. To his credit we PM'd and he has also tried to help with the fixing of photos. He, like others said MS paint is terrible to use for re-sizing because it adds noise to the photo. He has actually turned out to be a cool dude despite his jump to conclusions.

Thanks again sir.

Making a collage in GIMP or PS is actaully not that complicated. Make a new canvas with your final dimensions (like 400x2400 or such), and then open your individual images, select all, copy, and paste into the blank image. Position it, rinse and repeat. When you have all your images where you want them, flatten the image and viola - a collage.

progress on Luz

Thanks for the tips Trystan. I'll give it some more practice.

Got a little work done on Luz over the last couple of nights. I fixed her to the base and started on the painting of it.

Luz has made her way to the top of the city and is scanning the streets for any signs of her creator. She has heard a faint cry for help. Could it be Royo? Or just another helpless lost soul of the city.
