Can\'t really say its a themed army though as there\'s no way they\'d ever all be fielded at once on their own. Plus it\'s not really the entire company as there\'s a load of troops and vehicles missing. Just an excuse to shift some backstock.
I\'d like to see the equivalent points cost of Saim Hann Wildriders or a guard force with just foot troops.

I\'m guessing it\'s geared towards Apocalypse, so it may be fielded all at once.

As for the price, there are webstores which sell GW stuff with 20% off so you can get all that stuff a bit cheaper.

Apocalypse always seemed a bit pointless to me. When my local GW manager was describing it to me he said \"You\'ll be able to field massive armies and bigger war machines with simplified rules\" So like Epic then? Oh wait you messed that up good....
Then I noticed a few small kids with cases full of mismatched miniatures. Half squads, several special characters and too many tanks to fit into an army and then I realised EXACTLY who apocalypse was aimed at.

I\'d like to play a game of Apocalypse once in a while, although I\'m aiming to have a cohesive army with some reasoning behind it rather than just take everything I have. Also, I\'ll probably be buying some Forgeworld stuff...flyers and what-not.

Nothing wrong with playing bigger STRUCTURED games once in a while I\'m just a bit P-d off that GW are trying to sell everything that 40k should be as an add on. It\'s also a bit sad that after they\'ve spent so long convincing people (quite successfully) that campaigns and linked games are the way to go they take a big leap back to 3rd ed. pile everything on the table rules. I suppose it\'s like most tools in the hands of an amateur it\'s dangerous!lol

I was very dubious about apocalypse when I first saw it. But having played it it\'s nothing like epic. It\'s basically just 40k but bigger with extras like the strategy cards from 2nd ed and a few mechanics to make it all go a bit quicker. The main differences being that both armies start a bit closed together and the addition of a new class of weapon; the D characteristic. Basically this is for really big weapons that offer no chance of survival should they hit anything.

The removal of the need for force org charts opens the potential for power gamers but as apocalypse isn\'t aimed at competitive play if anyone tries anything stupid just tell them to shove it up their :moon: and find someone who wants to have fun.

A linked campaign involving a couple of big battles and some kill team missions all topped off with a humongous apocalypse game sounds like great fun to me. I just need to fing some willing victims to play it against.

What irked me about it though was when I was complaining that they\'d made most of my Emperors Children army obsolete in the new Codex by removing a lot of the sonic weapon choices for various entries. The answer I kept getting was \"well you can still use it in Apocalypse\". I don\'t want to have to be limited to playing in really big games when it\'s only a 1500pt army that I incidently spent a lot of time and money on :cussing:


As for that DW deal it is a propper army as you can get 9 terminator squads on to a force org chart and with two detatchments you can easily get the whole thing in. Believe me I\'ve worked it out already, sadly I only have 7 termy squads at present but who knows what the future might bring lol

Not for me. Ever since i started the hobby again I had to order stuff from the states. Whenever someone saw the over sea address, they deicided I was going to send their kids to college with the postage cost. And of course, it is never the real price.
