So this is my second attempt at a mini. Not an easy task if I say so myself. So please let me know what I did right and what I did wrong. Areas for improvement and areas where it was just a disaster!

It looks good. Concentrate on smoothing out your blending, do more than edge highlight the armor, Go back and fix where you made errors and be more consistent with your dark lining. The face looks great, the book on his standard is awesome, most of the bone looks really good. on whole keep it up, just concentrate on the details a little bit more.

Try to dilute your paint with water a bit more. Your paint look thick. (try 50/50% water and paint) It should go easier on the blending.

Overall it's well painted and well photographed. A complex second mini to take on.

The main thing that didn't work out so well is the edge highlighting of the armour. Thinner paint and less on the brush (a paper towel next to your palette works well). The armour looks to have a single colour only and would really gain with greater contrast between the dark and neutral areas before hitting the sharp highlights.

Smooth 'Eavy Metal style (w/ black lining) http://www.coolminiornot.com/172399

The yellow-on-black staff: you've only painted the highest areas of the lightning and it makes a raised thing look flat and generally 'off'. Painting the whole of the lightning in whatever colour then near white highlight on the most raised areas would do a lot.

The red pipe seen from behind needs a not-black base to work over. Maybe mechrite red over the black undercoat then a wash or three to deepen and then a final highlight as a simple plan.

...and he's a Librarian.

Thanks for the tips. acrylics are still new to me. I tried to smooth the lining around the armor but it just didnt work out! I tried to load then dry my brush but as you can see, it was a disaster! I'll keep working on it. I have to say, I really enjoy painting these kits. It's just a whole different medium!!
