Hey, I am looking for anyone that has the first edition 40K books with the fluff for the space rats... I am working on the limited information that I have recieved through one contact... Yeah ok space skaven, not very touvh but using the lost and the damed rules (5 points a model ) I think I can get the rat swarms that I want... Well Like I said they where an Army in First Edition, but got booted because of unpopular play...

man i never even heard of them, feckin rodents, i hate them in WH fantasy and now someone actually wants to unleash them in from of terminators and big damn guns? are you currently under heavy medication?

ha, ive been talking about making a unit of \'space rat\' auxilliaries for a tau army!
The Hrud are only a fairly recent addition. There were certainly no Space Rats in Rogue Trader, so far as I\'m aware.
There\'s really no much in the way of fluff. They had a picture in the 3rd ed rulebook, and a brief mention in one or two of the novels, hinting that they were a subterrainian race, and that\'s about it.
One of the Devs mentioned them as a possible future addition at one of the GDs... but again, about all that was said was that they wouldn\'t just be \'Skaven in space\'

all they have is a name and a picture. Good luck with that. If your trying to bring back a \"dead\" army, there\'s a thread on the 40k myspace here called \"bring back the squats\", even though the squats were eliminated in edition 1 I think, what page is the Hrud picture on? what edition are we on?
It actually wasn\'t until 3rd ed that they were removed.
They had a full list in Rogue Trader. When 2nd Edition came in, they had a list in the black booklet that came with the boxed set, and a full write up in the Codex Imperialis, but the designers had already started to doubt the idea...
They did a few concept minis for 2nd edition, which were never released, before just dumping the whole thing in the too-hard basket and dropping them completely from the game for 3rd edition.
