Space wolf Tartaros terminator conversions

Hi, everyone

I just bought the codex supplement for the space wolf codex "Champions of Fenris" and i loved the idea of Arjacs shield brothers (5x thunder hammer/storm shield wolfguard terminators).
I also love the tartaros terminators from forgeworld. Thier fluff indicates that they are more flexible than the other patterns and therefore more suited to assault type roles, so i decided to combine the two into my version of the "Arjac shield brothers"
I have started to put them together and i would like to share the project with you guys. Heres my current progress. Please let me know what you think. I am going to do some basic bitz swapping like the weapons, but i am also going to try and sculpt some detail stuff as well.

Here is the latest progress

I have added some arms to pose them some more and started to pin one where i am going to change the arm position to have the shield held in front. I also wanted to reduce the image size to make it easier to view.

I am still working on this project slowly. I am still trying to get the preparation done right, so i don't have too many problems with the painting later.
Stuff like cleaning mould lines and sculpting the expansion joints where i have modified the arm poses. I have also ordered some more bits, because i am missing one of the thunder hammers and i wanted more variety in the accessories, so i picked up some thunderwolf cavalry accessories as well I will post some more pics soon. I can hopefully get into the fun stuff soon and cover these guys in dead animal bits.

Cool! Looking forward to the continuation. I'm a huge fan of those tartator pattern armours.

Thanks Meph

I love them too. I have a contemptor pattern dreadnought that i have converted with a lightning claw, and these look just as good.
Here is a couple of pictures with my latest work. At the moment its more of a kitbash rather than a conversion, but i will get the sculpting tools out after i have the basics worked out with arm positions and accessories. I accidentally dropped the skull when deciding where to place it and it fell into the space between the missile pods. It looked so good and fit so well, i got some putty and stuck it in. The rest of the progress was just smoothing out some of the previous repairs and working on gap filling and arm positioning.

Here is another small progress update.

I have put on all of the arms and shoulder pads. I have placed all of the hammers and shields except for one because i am waiting for parts to arrive in the mail. I have kept the heads separate as i want to paint them before they go on. I might put them in temporarily in the next progress shot just to get a better overall feel for the unit. My plan is to have a very dark colour scheme with black for the shoulder pads and dark grey and silver for the armour. To get them to stand out in the overall army i am planning to paint the heads yellow. What do you think?

Well, If anyones watching, I have made another small amount of progress.

The filling and fixing from all of the arm repositioning has been completed and the additional bitz have arrived. i have even started sculpting some details.
I placed the heads on to see the overall effect they have as a group.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions or would like to see anything specific done to these models.
I think that i am going to have to be creative with the base for the one second from the right as i want to show him in mid leap.
Anyway, here they are.

Very nice , are you going to make some pelts on their backs or wolf heads .
Nice movement in your positioning .

Thanks TerraFirma
I am definitely going to do some pelts, but i'm not sure if my skills are up to a wolfs head or emblem. I'm also trying not to overdo it. It's a fine line and i would rather be on the less ornate side. I can always make up the detail with some freehand work.
I love the flexibility of the forgeworld models. I have a contemptor dreadnought that i converted to have a lightning claw. I was able to have him place his boot on the chest of a fallen thousand sons marine. It's one of my favourite models.

Hey everyone

Sorry for the long absence, The christmas period shut down my hobby and then work kicked into full gear when i came back. I do however have an update.
I took Terrafirma's suggestions and did one pelt. Thanks for the push, I might have chickened out if nobody suggested it. It was quite tricky so i have only done the one. It was a good learning experience. I have also finished all of the sculpting and joint repairs that i wanted to do. I even put a few basic colours on the cyclone missile launcher guy. Please let me know what you think.
