Hi guys

Just finished this landspeeder, think it came out OK. Not as converted as I would have liked though. This beeing my first vehicle I\'m looking for some tips for painting larger flat areas, as I\'m starting some tanks soon.
So if you have any comments in general or tips please let me hear.

the metal areas seem a little flat and i prefer my vehicles with weathering but thats a personal choice. a nice clean paintjob

In the case of a Landspeeder I think that flat metals make a lot of sense. Most small planes get flat and weathered looking metal pretty quickly. I think a bit of scratch/edge painting on the metals will make them really pop though.

All in all I think this is a well executed piece. I think that you chose the perfect colours for the rune iconography and freehand work.

Did the vote thing.

Even if it\'s not weathering, I think it could use a little more contrast on some of the large areas of metal. But the overall job is very \"neat\" (a quality I lack!) and the coloring is good.
Voted!

Thanks for the kind comments guys and girls, glad you like it.
I\'m not used to do much weathering, but I actually tried on this. The recesses on the bluegrey parts have been washed with a browish wash - and it\'s looks kind of OK. The metal areas have been washed with a black/brown wash but it doesn\'t show much I agree. Would the trick be just to add more/several washes(it has 2 or 3 layers of wash) - or what do you do when washing large metal areas.

the brown works well and takes away the showroom floor feel to it but i was thinking more along the lines of a little battle damage, scratches etc

I think its all been said. A bit more shading and a bit of battle damage. Still a clean job. Did the vote thing.
