According to MTV they\'ve finished the casting for Watchmen

Jackie Earle Haley is Walter Kovacs/Rorschach

Patrick Wilson is Nite-Owl

Matthew Goode is Adrein Veidt/Ozymandias

Billy Crudup is Dr. Manhattan

Malin Akerman is Laurie Juspeczyk/Silk Spectre

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is the Comedian

billy crudup just seems like a bad choice for dr. manhattan to me.

*shrugs* i thought the same thing when michael keaton was cast as batman too.

i could be wrong.

Personally I\'m a little worried that Ozymandias is a bloke who has yet to reach 30 and that the Comedian just doesn\'t look old enough.

Rorschach looks a pretty good choice though and I\'d say he\'s the piece of casting that\'s most important. Especially when there\'s a big world of open elevator shafts out there...and fingers to be broken ;)

My main response to most of that cast is: who the heck is that?

Ozymandias = Tom Cruise, imo. Even though he\'s a little radioactive lately from some of his antics, I can\'t think of anyone who would fit that role more perfectly.

I dunno, Rorschach was a kid once. He was a violent, mean little kid surviving a terrible upbringing.

Alas, I can\'t imagine a way for this movie to not suck. Hollywood warped and mangled \"V for Vendetta\" quite badly, though the film was enjoyable it didn\'t hold a candle to the book (the Evey \"prison\" sequence being the exception). \"Watchmen\" is equally complex and subtle, I don\'t know how a film could be faithful to it and still make any money.

Yeah, I just posted his pic as a joke, since I really had no clue on who he was.

That is my fear too with the Watchmen. It is the quintessential \'graphic novel\' imho. It used that medium to the fullest, with excerpts from books, lines from songs, mood, etc. etc. I don\'t think it will translate to film well....in fact I think it will be impossible to translate well.

Yup.

Although the director did a decent job with following 300 - I just cannot see how they are going to cram the entire thing into one movie.

Vike, that pick brought back some real memories from my childhood...I loved that movie!

I agree that it\'s going to be very tough to recreate the feel of the book.

Sorry guys. I am looking at this and cringing. I still remember what they did to Spawn, Ghost Rider, Superman Returns (good movie but I didn’t like the idea of Superman having a kid.), all of the X-Men movies, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man …etcetera… etcetera.

When I see Hollywood get their hands on a comic, I have begun to expect the worse.

Agency, any time Natalie Portman has no clothes on its a good thing, regardless how horrific the rest of the movie is.

Even if she did have no hair.
